I wish I knew how he was doing that.. not for my own purposes, but when I tried to use control Q to repeat something I had said in chat, it didnt work. So I assumed that repeating something or spamming wouldnt work at all.

He has two or three messages - both say the same thing but they have different amounts of periods at the end.

Really obnoxious. Its 6am and its going down the screen so bad I couldn't see to hunt without turning it off.
At this point, I'm not even complaining that he's promoting a website for rl money.. or even that supposedly people are losing their accounts from going to said website.. Just make it so he can't send it 30 - 40 times at once.. would be nice to see what everyone else is saying at all, but his spam blocks it.

That is interesting to know. It sounds like all "accounts" have been issued a "chat ID." I wonder if this ID will continue to be visible once the update is live? I ask because I am sure there will be people upset that they can not disassociate their main from their alts. Makes no nevermind to me, but I present the same attitude and etiquette no matter which character I am playing.

The number is the serial of your character, it's not the same for all your characters.

I stand corrected. I had read a post by someone wiser than myself that suggested they tested this on TC1 and that their ID did not change between characters on the same account. I just did a quick text on TC1 and sure enough it did change.

Sure it have to be the devils from Felucca, the PvP'ers, it can't be this little cute carebears from Trammel, the non PvP'ers who are the bad guys.

This person is breaking EA's ToS. He is readily identifiable through those id numbers, and Supreme posted earlier in this thread:

Keep in mind, you can petition on players in chat if they are violating the TOS. There is a new way to target players in the harassment petition system for global chat.

Legends is not that big trust me they are all pvp'ers.I am pretty sure others that play on Legends would back me here when I say that 99% of all the trash talk is from a couple guilds well known for pvp. I am guessing that most likely it is because it perpetuates the PVP vs. PvM/Fel vs. Tram debate. Not all PvP'ers are bad and not all PvM'ers are good. The people you are complaining about are simply jerks who happen to PvP. Just like in life not all religious people are good people and not all non-religious people are bad people. The play style does not define the player and the player does not define the play style.

I certainly don't speak for Freja or anyone else for that matter, but I think this is the point being made. I am also not suggesting that you meant anything by it, but this debate has gone on for so long that it has become second nature for so many of us, myself included at times.

Yep I play Siege and I think the Stratics Legend title have to do with my post counts.

You right I reacted as I did because everytime someone act bad they get labeled PvP'er or Fel players, that be trash talk, cheating, hacking, you name it.
Now we all know, Trammel do have it's share of cheaters, hackers and little trash talkings jerks too, only diff, they can't kill you.

Funny thing is, we do not have Trammel on Siege or any trammel ruleset and we do not have trouble with spam in our chat, or I had not heard it. Most use it for questions, selling/buying (not spam but serios wish to buy something or sell an item). We also use the chat to hear who is on. Generalt the chat had been a blessing for Siege as it help us find each others and make more play.

Guess I'm just tired of all this Fel/Tram hate

Found this on another board. Is this saying "your current chat channel will be saved" meaning if we choose 'no chat' that we will log into that channel each time? If this is the case there is still a problem. Players are chatting in the no chat room.

I totally dislike this trash on my screen and wish to turn it off. I use the 'no chat' room and allow others the choice to use a chat room or not.

Siege, it may work for your shard. But think of it in terms of the game, on a larger shard much of the chatter has nothing to do with most of the players game play. This is not working for larger shards unless we have the option to completely dismiss chat chatter. Please tell me the 'no chat' room is what it says?

We are working on a feature to allow you to ignore other players in the chat channels. We will release it as soon as it is ready.

Keep in mind, you can petition on players in chat if they are violating the TOS. There is a new way to target players in the harassment petition system for global chat.

Problem is, that when you do page on someone you are 15th in line at least, and it takes hours for a GM to respond. By that time you have either logged out onto another character or left the game for the night. The log files will be overwritten by the time a GM even sees them.

Now, I don't know why it takes 1 - 2 hours for a GM to send you a canned "Sorry I can't help you" response and then send you to a website to either review FAQ for nothing that has to do with what you reported as a problem, or for you to submit a bug report. So why bother?

And even if you do get him added to an ignore list, he is back in an hour after being paged on with yet another char with diff char id so you have to add him to ignore. Soon your ignore list is full, and its just a pain.

This is coming - read post #26 in this thread for the response directly from Supreem. They know we want it, they know we need it and they are working on it.

Not to be argumentative here but with the 290 chars he has we would spend our entire day paging on him since it takes about 1 hour AT LEAST to get through the Atlantic page line. I refuse to give up my playing time to sit around on only one char all day waiting for a gm to say, "We are looking into the matter and you will never know what has happened because of privacy laws." That's all we ever get and he never goes away.

Monday night he did a play by play of the NFL game the entire time I was on. Yes I did leave a few times but everytime you switch characters you get logged into the chat room again.

Oh yeah and he thinks it's absolutely hilarious that he is disrupting our shard so much. He often tells us to page on him that he has many more accounts to use. Last night he said that he had read about the trial account not being able to post in chat and that he had FOUND 10,000 codes for free months so his accounts could stay around and continue harassing us a while longer. That's seriously what he said.

Anyways......I never had chat before this week and I've done just fine. I just won't use it. Thanks Devs for the neat feature!!! Too bad one guy can mess up something great.

I re-read and hope it is synonymous to turning the system off. Maybe I read too deep, thinking if we chose "no chat" that would be 'synonymous" as not being in a chat channel. My reason for posting is to bring this to their attention before the publish.

At times we dont come across online as we wish. I am not being rude, simply totally dislike the system, not due to language. Simply too much 'trash' on the screen. The screen is too 'busy' for me, and selling selling selling of items.

Now, as for Siege. I played Siege for a long time, it is by far my favorite shard and miss it terribly. Seriously dont think this would be a problem in Siege too long. Siege is much more community orientated.

I'm sure if this problem stays out of control, and we are allow to let EA know about it, they will find a way to fix it on the shards that need attention.

To clear this up a bit, "not being in any chat channels at all" means clicking on the "Leave" button in the Chat gump.

At that point, you are not in any of the listed channels at all. If you try to chat, you will get the message, "You must be in a channel to do this. Join a channel using the Chat menu on the menu bar."

And this will save properly once Publish 63 is available on your home shard. You will no longer auto-join the "General-Trammel" channel every time you log in.
