I'm glad that we were able to host this sort of event, and we are extremely thankful to those who helped defend and protect us (NmE and the TB Crowd), as it was a great night full of fun. We started a bit rocky, we had a very strong middle, and the raid from AZN gave us a rough patch, but with the assistance of NmE and a few of the TB, we were able to clear and hold them off while we finished the harrower.
Sure we died, but how many times do we go to EM events and die constantly and end with nothing? Most of the people I spoke to who participated got at least some sort of stat scroll.
Noone knew that AZN was going to raid, and while it wasn't exactly 'welcome', It did give me a thrill of fighting for something that I'd worked hard for, which made the final win all the more enjoyable. I'm sorry for those who don't share the same feeling, but I and almost all I spoke to had great fun.
Also, keep in mind that you only lose half the insurance amount to a pvper as you do to monsters, so you would've had to die 2x as many times at the harrower to PK's as you would to any monster in the game to lose the same amount of gold.
I don't think it was a night of Dishonor at all; I think if anything, Honor prevailed. I saw several instances where in confusion those of us attacking the harrower accidentally attacked one of our NmE or TB protectors, and the protectors did not retaliate, even after several of these attacks. I saw people who are normally at each others throats working together to help provide the entire shard with a night of enjoyable fun. I saw a massive effort to protect everyone to the best of peoples abilities, and it was an amazing night.
I can sum it all up however in a few words.
Can't wait till the next one. Expect it in early spring. May Honor Guide and Bind you!
