I redid my house for Christmas about 5 days ago... I logged in long enough to let the client patch yesterday but have been too busy to get on since I redecorated...

When I signed on this morning... all of my deeded holiday items, ie- wreath... they were all unlocked. I had to re-lock down and move every deeded item I had placed. For the record... there is no way I missed locking them down as I had to use the deco tool to decorate.

I just thought everyone would like to know... recheck... and if necessary... re-lock. I'm not sure if this was due to the patch yesterday, or some weird glitch.

Re: ALERT- Holiday deeds unlocking!

I don't think you need to lock your wreaths down, Atleast I haven't locked mine down.

I've never locked down any of my holiday items either. I can see doing it to raise or lower them, but you can unlock them after and they remain fine until re-deeded; the vet reward banners work in this fashion.

I get so bothered by posts like this....

First of all you don't need to lock down the deeded xmas items. Second, I don't believe you can even use a house tool on them... Posts like these are un-necessary and promote unneeded hysteria... Why do folks like you do this? Is it a turn on or something to see people freak?

Re: ALERT- Holiday deeds unlocking!

Just to clarify a bit, after using a deeded item, you can lock some items down to use a deco tool on them and raise them to a desired height. I've not had an issue with mine unlocking however, anything is possible with decorating *smiles*

You should probably remove the Alert from the title as it may 'Shock' people and then they read it and find that it isn't actually a problem.

Re: ALERT- Holiday deeds unlocking!

We should place all holiday deeds into a random mailbox. This will fix this issue. Cyrah's mailbox is an easy target.

HURRY heed the ALERT!

Re: ALERT- Holiday deeds unlocking!

I gather you're only locking them down to position them. This is not a concern as they don't need to be locked down after you've finished adjusting the height.

Most locked deeded items unlock after server save. The only exception I can think of offhand is the big fish trophy, which can be picked up if it isn't locked down.

First off... before you decide I am trying to freak people out... read some of my other posts.. I am usually one of the posters telling everyone to relax... thanks. I get bothered by posts like yours... people who decide to post on someone else's thread just to harp. You had nothing constructive to add... <insert troll doll smiley face palming after a shot of anti-troll spray>

I am well aware that they do not need to be locked down.... MY point was to let people who are entering the many deco contests know that they are unlocking... which I did NOT know happened at server up as it has never happened to me before... I had to reposition ALL of my deeded items WITH my deco tool... which does indeed work, btw. There are tours and judging going on and anyone attempting to win would inevitably look rather haphazard if all of their decorations were all over the place and NOT where they put them. But if it will make you feel better... I will attempt to fix the title... I have never had ANY of my holiday deeds do this... so decided that anyone who is placing to enter a contest might want to keep checking them.

Thanks!... yes, I was indeed locking to reposition... I did not know this as all my previous ones stayed locked and where I put them until I took them down. My original house had about 12 of them placed around a room and they never became unlocked nor did they move. And they stayed up for 4 plus years. That was, of course, a long time ago that I placed those... and since moving and taking mine down... I never put them back up.

Anyway... thanks everyone but one for your input... this is the first deco contest I have entered... and well... spending an hour repositioning was not my idea of a good time... I simply wanted to let anyone else know if this was something new so they would not bomb the contest on account of that. If I had not been in such a hurry this morning... I would have clarified better I guess. Note to self: Only post when you have time...
