On a brand new pc with windows 7! sucks what am i doing wrong? or is this the normal time it takes?

For both clients :
To download the initial installation file, should be pretty fast, eg. 15-20 mins.
To download the patches (for either client), would probably take over 24 hours.

It has nothing to do with your OS.. it has to do with you internet connection speed and your download rate.

im on cable and on a network with another pc in the house, other one can download it in 25 mins, while this brand new one can only do it in 6 hours! weird eh.

While the 2d client may take 24+ hours to patch up from the downloadable version, the EC will take MUCH less time because the first patch you download brings you entirely up to date... you go directly from Patch A to Patch Z instead of Patch A, Patch B, Patch C ... Patch X, Patch Y, Patch Z.
From the last post though, seems like a network issue on the user's end. Check your system settings and at what speed you are connected to the network (especially if it's wireless). Could be that you need to tweak some settings for network optimization on the new system.

Something has to be wrong with the connection. I would dbl check all network setting and see. There is a quick internet speed test from many different DSL or Cable providers. One I use many times to check my up & down speeds is provided by toast.net The speed test is listed on the left side under Channels then internet speed test. Something tells me your net connection setup has to be messed up some how. This will at least let you know if it's you or just the connection to the UO download site.

so how do i make my pc downlaod faster,and when i try to download the client it keeps lost connection with the server
Go to http://www.speedtest.net/ and run a test using a server close to you. Post back here with your results. Without knowing how fast your internet is meant to be or is nobody can tell you how long it should take, or if there is anything wrong.

1.07mb/s for download speed,ping is 10ms distance 50 mi.
The Enhanced Client would perform very well on this setup

WHAT???!!!!! It takes you this long to patch from a fresh dl?! Are you on dial-up by any chance? Last time I downloaded and patched the 2D client (less than 1 month ago) it took me like 20 minutes lol.
To the OP, I am on Windows 7 and I have no troubles at all, I am going to have to agree with what has already been said, check your network. I have a home network that consists of 2 PCs, and XBOX 360 and a PS3 all wired and I also connect my Wii, Laptop, etc. with wireless and have no troubles.

There is your problem, your connection to the network must be configured incorrectly if you are on Cable. I connect at like ~22Mbps (I am not home right now but I will post my speed test results later).

Not necessarily. He/she might have the basic internet.. 1 mbps is standard for a basic package.

The pc in the room beside me downloaded it 25mins,while it takes me 6 hours, how do you explain that,and the pc that downloaded it in 25 mins is abit older than this new one that takes 6 hours.

Justed tried to download the enhance beta client,downloaded real quick,but when i try to run it,it say`s uosa setup 105 is not a valid win_32 apllication?
Are you running 32 or 64bit Windows 7?

win 7 64bit.
On sub-10mbps cable, I patched up from a T2A CD the other day in slightly under 2 hours. For it to take 24+ hours to download 8 years less of patches would require you to be on a connection that is measured using a baud rate.

Check setting on your router.
IIRC last time I downloaded the clients it was much slower (in terms of transfer speed) on one of them than the other (i think the 3d client downloaded in less time than the 2d one despite being much larger).
It also might be worth the op checking to see if his old machine/other machine has any sort of download manager, as if it has and his new one doesn't it may well be increasing the speed by effectively downloading it in 2-6 parts at once (which can get round speed limiting at the server).

What are you doing to patch? My God...when I had to have my HD formatted, it took me about 4 hours to patch up fresh. 24 hours? Wow.
To download 2D (673MB) at aprox. 1Mb/s will take aprox. 1 and a half hours.
Prepare to spend even more hrs just to update it after....
