Of all the things I say, this has to be one of the funniest that my daughter picked up from me (This happened about 5 years ago when my daughter was 8 years old, but still makes me laugh...Now, she gets upset with my "road rage" yelling in the NJ traffic).
We were driving down the Garden State Parkway, in seriously heavy traffic (no accident on our side mind you, just a bunch of rubber neckers looking at an accident on the other side but it will still cause a 20 minute delay for me...grrrrrrrr).
Anyway, I see in my mirror someone move out of the rihgt lane that I am in onto the deceleration lane to take an exit. But instead of actually taking the exit, they pass about 8-10 of us, and then push their way back into traffic (this really pisses me off - what makes them think that their time is any more important than the 10 people that they passed). Seeing this, the following conversation takes place:
Me: I hope he gets a flat tire.
Daughter: No Daddy, 2 flat tires
Me (smiling): And why is that?
Daughter: Because he only has 1 spare.
What reminded me of this was that today someone tried to pull this same stunt on me on me on Route three when they pulled off of the road and onto an acceleration lane to pass a bunch of us but I was quick enough to pull 1/2 off and block the lane on that lady and her brand new Mercedes. Boy, the look on her face and the "friendly" wave she gave me made me all warm and fuzzy inside.
