UO mixed with RL ???

have you ever been doing somethng in RL and you either blurt out something that you would only ever hear in UO or you have to bite your tounge to stiffle a laugh cause you all of a sudden think of a nice UO "insert UO'ism"

i work on a ambulance.
the other night i got a call for a broken leg.
as i walked up to the poor girl she looked me in the eye and asked me to please help her, and my mind, which allways seems to be in smart ass mode, i really wanted to look her dead in the eye and say "gah, sorry, it says benny acts. IS ANYONE HERE IN FACTIONS THAT CAN HELP US WITH A HEAL HERE???"

i cant be the only one that thinks of stuff like this, am i?

i was driving down the road the other day and a young kid in a rice rocket went flying by me and i yelled out "SPEEEEEEEEED HAXXOR!!!!!!!!!!!"
and of course got the strangest look from my wife.

i went out to feed my dogs last week, one of which is a new pup, and im trying to get her to do some beginer learning or some tricks.
so i was trying to get her to sit down and such.... and i caught myself saying "you are a nobel creature..... will you come with me......" i could even see the blue emote above my head!!!!!

your in line waiting to pay for your x-mas gifts and you have the urge to drop an Armagedon spell on everyone so you can get to the front of the line.
but then you think.... shoot, that will throw me back as well.

ever get a paper cut and the as you suck on your finger you find yourself saying in your head "In Vas Mani"???

ever see someone you dont like from accross a room and think to yourself "Cor Por..... COR POR!!!!!!"

you ever been sitting in a meeting and think to yourself.... if only i had a smoke bomb i could pop that sucker and stealth out of here and they would be looking everywhere for me in there and i wouldnt even be in there anymore!

you ever stop to help someone who has ditched out their car on the highway and think to yourself..... what we need here is a Greater Dragon, that sucker would pull this out with no problem.

When I was in the military a buddy of mine played UO also. One night we went to the bar and I got wasted and he had to carry me out to the car. Now, I dont remember this but, he told me not to throw up inside the car and I proceded to tell him that the only reason I was sick was because I ate one of those moonstones. The most magnitudinal human I have ever been in love with has told me my UO history that she "cancelled" in a dream, by sacrificing her avatar into our sun, with the blackrock gem she had swallowed. The dream was so intense and detailed that it took me months to figure out that she was talking about exactly that which people tend to forget about UO history. That feeling of community and mind organisation, balanced giving and receiving with a full archetypal spectrum.

We must learn from our mistakes as a community if we are to be united again, in mind and soul. I think we are ready. I am currently repenting my sins... into passion.

What I get are these four weasels at work that think they're king **** because they play on a PvP server on WoW, it's their lunch room topic every day. Ironically enough they don't respect anybody elses gaming opinions. One day I revealed that I play UO - a bit of a mistake. "UO only has x amount of subscribers, WoW has 10 million" but they couldn't come up with any substantial reason as to why the PvP in WoW is superior to UO.

I had to be straight up honest and tell them how lucky they are that I don't play WoW because I'd badly humiliate their (lack of) PvP talent and they'd never hear the end of it.

In around 2000 I was looking at houses to buy and I found one in Vesper, Oregon. My guildies and friends in UO had our houses around Vesper and it was the main city I hung out at. I thought...maybe this is a sign of a good house.

So I drove out there...way way out in the sticks. The house was right next to a river bank. There was a bunch of negatives to it, but they had a stable at the school and I could have ridden my kids on horses to school.

I decided it wasn't a game so I bought a house less in the sticks.

Well, I have a different perspective on the whole UO/RL story. When we were working on UOKR at Redwood Shores, I was in a doctors office and remember telling some of the character guys over the cell phone that we needed to make sure that we get all the undead delivered on time, that the pixies needed cleaning up, and asked if someone would take a look at the dragon we got in yesterday. I got off the phone only to find everyone in the doctors office staring at me blankly.

I just pointed at the phone and said "... work,work, work!"

Also, way way back in late 2000 I was training fletching, and I'd been up half the night until I ran out of wood (GMed 4th January 2001, is it really sad I can still remember that?) On the way to work I drove past a forestry site which had a sign up "logs for sale", and I turned in meaning to restock to carry on fletching .... fortunately I realised what I'd done and pretended I was just turning round ....

GrimmOmen that reminds me of a time with my sister in law, our whole family also played.
We were in a Dr office and we lived in a very small town. This was back in 1998-99
we would be up at times hours or days it seems. It was our lives and our kids lives. And is still so to this day.

But anyway.
Kizmet and myself, Ashlen were at the dr office and we were discussing the night be fore’s events in Deciet
where we had been pk'ed by this group called SUN and we were pissed going into details

You know the type of things we were saying everyone has had those conversation with someone they played with.
And like you, we were so into what we were talking about because it was our lives back then we were paying no
attention to anyone around us. Then we looked up and everyone in there was looking at us like we were the
Undead or some monster they had never seen before.
Kizmet and I just shut our mouths and started giggling but when we got into the private room in the back we busted out laughing.
Because those people out in the waiting room they all knew us and thought we were out of our mind.

Oh those days were fun, Kizmet is gone from this world and our pixel world as well, she died at 42 after dental surgery.
My nephew is still a very active player and keeps his moms memory alive and well in Britianna.

My son and I were on a bus. It was dead silence, when all of a sudden he blurted out, "I killed a demon paragon!" and we were off to the races. It took a few minutes to realize people were actually shrinking back from us. It killed us. Now we do it on purpose.

I even wrote a story about a dear little woman for whom the line between RL and Ultima has not just blurred; it's disappeared altogether. It's a little dark, as you might imagine. It's called "An Evening With Bonecrusher".

I dont usually post to these kinds of threads, but this is such good timing with something that happened to me last weekend that I figured what the heck!

Ok, so I live in an apartment complex and we all take our garbage to a central huge compactor unit and drop our rubbish in. Well, often when people are moving out or in, they leave all kinds of stuff around the compactor that wont fit inside.

Things like couches, lamps, vacuums, etc...
I have been known to do my share of "dumpster diving", i.e., grab some decent looking "item" that someone else is throwing away. I scored a nice couch and a great vacuum that way.

Well, the other night I was driving by the compactor and saw a crowd of people. I looked closer and saw that 2 guys were carrying away a big screen TV!!! Well, I jumped out of my car and ran to the area. People were milling around poking through lots of boxes, appliances, and furniture that was lying around. I immediately started grabbing everything I could and dragging it back to my car. My adrenaline was pumping, and I was sweating from all the nervousness and activity. I came away with 6 boxes of stuff, some nice lamps, a computer desk, and a huge mirror.

As I was driving away and back to my apartment to unload the stuff, I was thinking about what to keep and what to sell. Suddenly, I realized I was acting the exact same way I do when I camp/loot an idoc!

Back sometime around 99-01, I can't remember what we'd been after, I think it was either food or gaming related, but on the way home from this out of the way place my friend Troy (who got me into UO in high-school) looks at me and says "Dude, that place was great. We should've marked a rune."

It took about twenty seconds to set in what had just been said.
