why is that? there is not much pvp talk on baja anyway
Because that's the rule. Keep it in the pvp thread. It's more loosely moderated then the regular forum. Don't want the freedom, we can take it away and start infracting for trolling. Everyone's choice.

Ok so do it, that's what you call freedom? That's sad, and that is also the reason Baja stratics is dead. Every time people post anything related to the game that's not tram related it has to be placed in one spot or you move it there.. And that was proven by hazmats post about the tournament. You know what please explain to me what trolling is. So if I respond to a post and you don't like it that's trolling? What exactly is trolling because I see people use this as a back door all the time............... And I would like to apologize right now to Oriana because this sounds like I'm attacking this person but that is not the intent of this post.

The Rules of Conduct are posted in the sticky thread above but for your ease I am posting them here also. Items A through D clearly state how we, as guests on these forums, are to conduct ourselves.

Every single one of us clicked the little button saying that we agreed to abide by these rules when we signed up to be a member of these forums.

If you are not happy with these rules you are free to send your comments to the link provided at the end of this post.

Rules of Conduct

These forums are for discussing Massivly Multiplayer Online Games and the events associated with Massivly Multiplayer Online Games. These guidelines are posted only to bring clarification on some issues where there have been questions in the past. Stratics could not be any happier with the quality of posts provided by its participants and it is our desire to provide an environment that is conducive to discussions about Massivly Multiplayer Online Games. In general, what we're describing here is a code of conduct and if all of our participants will subscribe to this code of conduct most of these rules will be easily observed.

A. Show respect at all times.

B. Help build the Community.
The success of our forums depends upon the quality posts of our participants. We are proud of the success of our forums and give our thanks to those who have chosen to make our forums their out-of-game home. To ensure continued success we are posting these guidelines so that all participants of the Stratics forums understand what is considered unacceptable behavior in the forums and can result in a temporary suspension or a permanent ban.

C. Personal attacks are prohibited. This specifically means any text/post that is blatantly attacking another person on or off the forum, especially in a personal way.

D. Trolling is prohibited.Trolling is whenever someone is clearly, deliberately posting in a manner for the purpose of angering and/or insulting the other participants of the board. Trolling DOES NOT encourage further discussion in the long run, it only encourages personal attacks (if left unchecked).

E. Private Messages received on these Forums are to be considered private and are not to be posted publicly unless the sender of the private message agrees.

F. Participant shall not post messages containing personal phone numbers or addresses.

G. Advertising of player-run shards is prohibited. Additionally our forums are not designed to provide technical support for shard emulators and as such all discussions related to building and maintaining a shard are prohibited.

H. Posting details of bugs and exploits in such a way that others are able to perform said bug or exploit is prohibited. In addition, documented involvement in activities that prove to be malicious and/or illegal in nature as it concerns the gaming industry as a whole will lead to immediate and permanent banning from the forums.

I. Publicly discussing actions by the moderators is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: bans, warnings, locks, and moved threads. Any inquiries or comments on bans, warnings, or other moderator actions, are to be sent in private messages or via email. A moderator may choose to publicly inform the participants of a forum about bans and warnings if this is in the interest of the forum.

J. Posting of pornography, racist or otherwise discriminating remarks, threats to cause physical or mental harm, extreme offensive language, material that breaks any law or otherwise totally unacceptable posts or links to pages that contain the aforementioned material may result in an immediate ban from the forums.

K. Deliberately circumventing the censor filter is prohibited.

L. Spamming the forums is prohibited.

M. Please adhere to the following restriction for images that are not directly related to the topic of the thread under discussion:

- Maximum size of image file(s): 50k (51,200) bytes
- Maximum height of image(s): 125 pixels
- Maximum width of image(s): 600 pixels

N. Not responding to or ignoring moderator warnings can lead to suspension.

O. Activities that are against any games' Terms of Service or the User Agreement are prohibited from being promoted or advertised on our network. This includes, but is not limited to, third party programs, game item sales for real world goods, power leveling services, and/or links to such items.

P. Player to player transactions selling in game virtual items for real life currency are prohibited from being promoted or advertised on our network.

There are a number of issues that are not so clearly cut. The following issues are acceptable.

Q. Images created using shard emulators may be posted on the forum. Many of our participants create cartoons utilizing shard emulators. These cartoons add tremendous value to our forums and are perfectly acceptable.

R. Off Topic (OT) are not prohibited, but should be posted within reason. There are some topics that are not appropriate for the forums. All posts are subject to these rules. Excessive OT posts will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

S. All Forums have a main topic. When starting a new thread, make sure you do so in the proper Forum.

T. Guild advertisements are to be posted in the appropriate guild related forum(s).

Thank you for being a part of the Stratics community! If you have any comments or questions, feel free to send us a private message or an e-mail at [email protected]. __________________

They are biased. If the mods pvp'd, we would have a "pvm thread" and posts regarding pvp would be allowed. Pvp talk is allowed on other shard forums where the mods participate in pvp combat, but not here. I wonder why? But I don't understand how anyone could enjoy discussing pvm anyway... "Hey guys good job killing that ettin today!"

As stated in post #3 in this thread we HAVE a PvP thread. The PvP thread is a sticky at the top of the Baja forum.

It has nothing to do with PvP or PvM. It has to do with the smack talk pvpers start throwing around. As Amber Witch posted the RoC for you it gets into trolling which really isn't acceptable on these boards. This forum is about the community and events. Yes Pvp is part of the community, but as I have seen in the past pvp can begin to clutter the forum very very quickly and no one can see the basis of this forum. Thus the PvP thread was made. It isn't moderated quite as much as the rest of the forum. You guys can troll away each other within the reasons of the RoC. (profanity, down right mean threatening comments, and threatening irl will not be tolerated.)

These are the rules of this board. Plain out simple.

I gotta be honest, I never liked the pvp thread thing. But I can understand why they do those things. My issue generally was that it sort of lumps all incidents and happenings in the pvp world into one area and that really sort of limits interaction. I mean what if all [news] posts were stuck in a single thread? There are some fun fights sometimes that should get their own little spotlight on them, just like any other happening on Baja.

Possibly, considering the low population of Baja these days the mods could reconsider the pvp thread thing and do a trial run of just having all regular threads and work on keeping things from getting out of hand the old fashioned way. That might encourage people to post more here and make the board more active.

Just a thought, anyways. :)

The second I heard a new PvP thread was being suggested, I tried to shoot it down. As is always the case, the PvPers couldn't use a single brain cell, and pushed on forward with the PvP thread.

And now? Every post that even has a PvPers' name in it gets relegated to the PvP thread. And rightly so.

I wouldn't cite examples from other shards; take a while to actually read them and you'll see that they know how to handle themselves. The PvPers on this shard's forums are idiots; plain and simple. I was only being a bit sarcastic when I suggested that PvPers should be seen, and not heard. Time and again, the PvPers of this shard fail to conduct themselves properly if not reined in. The notable exceptions are the PvPers who also take part in community events and support Baja.

So if you really want to make a complaint? Then pancake at yourselves first for ruining the very system in which other shards use to thrive. The sense of self-entitlement that many PvPers share is the same sort of entitlement that brought the current state of affairs upon yourselves.

I tried for years to stem that tide. Ignore me at your own discretion.
