*opens up the tavern for the day, making his way back to the counter*

Good day everyone. Hopefully we all enjoyed our weekends and are rested up for a good week. To those of us who work outside the home, good luck. To those of us who work inside the home...even more luck. My wife is a stay at home mom and I do NOT envy her one bit. She has a much harder job than I'd ever be willing to tackle.

*sets out the morning pastries, starts the coffee and hot water*

Today's specials are freshly baked pumpkin muffins and cinnamon swirl french toast. I also have MSG free bacon.

Morning! Some tea and some... *sniffs* ... muffins?

* sits at the counter, obviously tired but enjoying the bright, sunny morning *

* plays with a silver pin, while silently enjoying the fresh muffins *

Good day to you sir, exciting weekend? Yes, pumpkin muffins, there were so many pumpkins left over from the Halloween event I had to do something with them.

The weekend was grand... many old friends joining our ranks, eager to join the battlefield.
And this morning...

* puts his heavy backpack on the counter, opens it, revealing several white magical scrolls *

... this morning, I was busy killing an Harrower.

* grins softly *

* munches on the muffin, while grinning... *

*voice from the doorway* I love the aroma of cinnamon... haven't had french toast in years... not since the wife was eaten by a kracken. *sigh*

*sets cane in a corner, sits down and places a gold coin on the table*

* tips his forehead, next to feline ear... respectfully saluting the venerable newcomer. *

I hate krakens... its flesh is too salty...

*shudders* I'm not one for hating as a rule... but I'm with you on krackens.

*walks in cautiously having many times walked past this door and the smells have been odd... today they call me inside"

*nods once at each person in the tavern and slips into a chair at an open table hoping for a cup of coffee and a plate of that wonderful smelling breakfast*

*Loud explosion that rattles the windows and dishware echoes througout the area. Ducks through the door and into corner, smoldering slightly as he looks wildly over his shoulder*

No matter what -ANYONE- says...Remember that I didnt do it! Thats the
important thing here!

* smells the air... blackrock... Va'lis... braces himself and waits for the blast... *

CABUUUMM...

* yup, Va'lis... *

* nods respectfully to the fuming, smoldering magus and the shield maiden *

* ponders for a while... finally reaches a decision... searches his backpack for a small blackish scroll*

* moves to her table and places the ancient scroll on the table *

I hope you find this usefull, mylady...

* bows gracefully, his meer tail tip showing behind his head *

* Walks to Va'lis with a roguish grin... *

I hope you find this usefull too...

* Gives a silver pin with a D carved on the top to the True Britannian... *

I think I've had enough excitement for one morning. Good day, all.

*sets a plate of cinnamon swirl french toast before Llwynd and Lyra*

Yes I decided to move back to some old favorites.

*pours a cup of coffee for Lyra*

Will you be needing anything in that? We have an assortment of sweeteners and flavored milks along with a wide selection of "bottled" additives.

*looks over to Llwynd*

Anything to drink for you good sir? Sorry to hear about your wife being eaten like that. Now my wife would probably gut the best from the inside and bring him its meat for my dinner! Which of course in this case I might begrudgingly eat.

*grabs on to a post as the building shakes*

Good day Va'lis! Please keep in mind that I circumvented a fire in your tavern just recently when those blackrock blasts follow you so closely. Even though yes, I am sure you had NOTHING to do with it.

Ahh... sorry for the hasty departure... I failed to thank you for the outstanding breakfast. Rest assured, I shall return tomorrow.

No, I do not require anything more than the strong black coffee. Thank you so much, this is wonderful! *indicates the breakfast with her fork"

*walks in and notices the debris scattered about and Va'lis seated nearby trying to look innocent*

Can't you just say good morning like a normal person?

*brushes bits of glass and dust off the bacon and grabs a few slices*

So where's our bacon from today? Pig? Lizardman? Corpser?
Ah, no matter.

*chews thoughtfully on his bacon*
Looks like nice weather out there today.

a Pumpkin Muffin and a cuppa joe, please and 3 cheers for stay-at-home Mums!
Was one m'self for a number o' years for 5 l'l munchkins...

... *looks around to find an empty chair*

Oh, and I truly admire the man who appreciates that a mum's work is a 24/7/365.

*tries not to notice the havoc going on outside*

You know its a position that requires:

Eyes behind her head,
The hearing of an owl,
The ability to see things before they happen,
Quick reflexes to prevent alot of spilled milk... sometimes with one arm tied behind her back,
The ability to remain calm and act decisively when blood is pouring out of heads, lips, elbows, fingers. knees, toes or other,
The ability to manage routines and time so that everyone's schedules don't collide (too much),
The skills of an accountant, lawyer, judge, business manager, nurse, chef, social worker, minister, teacher, student, maintenance worker, office clerk, chaffeur, maid, trash collector, *I'm sure I forgot a few*,

...and still finds a moment of peace to regain her composure and self respect in order to keep herself healthy, sane, strong and sober.

I truly respect and admire the mate who does not take advantage of their partner when they get home from a long day at the dungeon.
A mate who is strong, respectful, compassionate, loyal, kind, and intelligent and, of course... sexy (although you know sexy is understood and may not need to mentioned simply for the reason that most couples first attraction to each other *unless they are blind* is based on physical attraction or what they perceive as sexy).
A mate who willingly pitches in and gives a cheerful helping hand or two where needed. A mate who doesn't think their life is more difficult than the rest of the world and they deserve more.
A mate who doesn't take advantage or hold over there partner's head that they are the one with the "real job". *hrm, this has the potential to turn into an ugly divorce*

Anyway, about that cuppa joe... needs a tad of cream and a wee bit o' sugar. The muffins are delicious! Did ya bake 'em yerself?
hmm...
*looks over at the plate o' bacon in front of the Beacon of Light beside her*

I think I'll try some bacon today.

*nods* You are welcome m'lady and if you need anything else I'll be around somewhere...

*smiles as he leaves her in peace*

Ah Black Sun my friend, we both know Va'lis can't not use blackrock to travel. It is just something we have to be conscious of and hope he does not use it in the tavern.

Today's bacon is simply made from pork. I do have some soy bacon for those non-meat eater types though. I am married to a vegetarian so I always have to keep this stuff on hand.

Well good day to you M'lady.

*sets down the muffins and coffee*

Five, FIVE little ones? Oh my....I can only be thankful you are still with us. My wife and I agreed one is more than we can handle. He is autistic spectrum so that adds to the workload a good bit. I love him to pieces though. He gets his daddy from the time I get home until the time he goes to bed. Mommy gets what is left of me after that, which isn't much let me tell you.

I agree on all of your points about a mate, my wife's peers are often surprised when they learn we clean the house jointly and I take over diaper duty when I get home. Just simple things go so far. I've been doing the father thing for three years so far and still have so much yet to learn. I've been doing the husband thing for five and definitely have a lot left to learn there. All I can do is try right?

*adds the necessary ingredients to the coffee*

Yes, I love the smell baking adds to a house so I try and do it now and again. I am no expert and my wife often makes me bring the baked goods to work after she has had a nibble because it is too tempting!

Vegetarian? Not me. I'm about as carnivorous as they come. However, as of recent I've found myself eating much more of that green stuff. My girlfriend is Vegetarian with wheat allergies, so it's been an adventure. She wonders why I haven't cooked for her yet. I'm an above average cook, but you can't expect a man of Italian decent to cook at his best when you take away his meat and pastas. Its a crime!

*grabs another handful of bacon and continues munching away*

Life without pastas is no life at all. Fortunately mine enjoys pasta. No Italian decent with either of us though.
