Bring back the improved monster AI. Then improve it some more.

As for Luck, it should NOT be fixed in its current form. The original purpose IIRC was for Luck to provide a tradeoff of higher risk for higher reward. But with arties/event items and imbuing allowing stupidly high luck yet effective suits there is no risk.

Here's how you fix luck: make luck inversely proportional to your item properties. To maximise luck, you need to fight monsters nekked :)

Fixed.

Loot system needs to be reworked from the ground up. The harder the mob is, and the harder it is to get to, the better the loot. Balrons at the bottom of a dungeon in Ilsh that you can't recall to has better loot than a Balron in Hythloth where you can recall to the same room where it spawns.

Less Junk loot. Fewer items in total, same total intensity of properties = everything equally worth hunting.

Make all loot make sense for the "level" of the monster. If your character has the skill to hunt lizardmen, lizardmen should drop loot usable and useFUL for such a character. This removes some of the need for golem training since everything in the game that's actually worth doing doesn't require a maxed 6 x legendary Sampire with a 100 million gold arty suit...

What kind of loot could you possibly need?

Gold? It falls freely at champ spawns.

Cool armour. Easily made.

Weapons. Blah.

Are you saying we need new types of loot? That I would agree with.

i'd like to see the creature and NPC AI get a makeover. more abilities, better pathfinding, different tactics, etc., and less reliance on AI cheats, like no limits to fast cast or recovery, queuing spells, one hit kills, skills well above legendary, etc.

What is satisfaction? What is greed? :)

Try asking a Sphinx for a fortune if you're bored ;).
Not sure if the greed thing was a shot at Widow, but the man is far from greedy. He is simply asking that a broken system be fixed. I myself would personally not mind for it to be fixed. I could use some more ornys....

...

Honestly, I'm reasonably happy with PvM loot the way it is right now. Renowneds need to be tweaked, but beyond that, it's a matter of perspective.

Obviously a PvM player that also runs a crafter is going to be much more pleased with the way loot is right now simply because PvM loot becomes resources in one for or another. Don't like the mods on an item, then you have 3 options:

1. Combine it into a "junk" BOD if you run BODs and the item will combine into one
2. Recycle it into leather or ingots
3. Unravel into residue (probable), essence (possible), or relic frags (not likely)

Items with potential also fall into 3 groups:

1. Use as is or sell as is
2. Imbue to improve
3. Enhance to improve

After that, there isn't a whole lot of loot that DOESN'T have a purpose in some form or fashion. Maybe some of the odd and end loot found on ratmen and such, but beyond that, there's at least SOMETHING going for most loot now.

More uncommon drops like the imbuing ingredients is always cool IMO and yeah, treasure chests probably do need a new look.

Think beyond the mods.

I agree

The 3 spells a second and the firebreath hit for 60 (before double slayer bugs) [through 70 fire resist] every 5 seconds or so gets old...
