Kudos to Developers & Programmers For Halloween 2009

Thank you for an extremely entertaining Halloween 2009. Many players have exclaimed: "Best Halloween ever!!! "

Players are still running around crazily working on this convoluted multi-tasking bunch of merry-go-round-timed-sequentials, chasing madly after Crystalized Red, Blue and Yellow Essences, Pumpkin Scarecrows, black cat Statuettes, and harvesting wonderful Jack O' lanterns, - plus killing Harbengers! It's rediculous and hillarious! I find myself laughing while on that roller-coaster, watching myself and others morphing into creatures racing against time. hahaha!

Had alot of fun for the first week before Halloween. Now after dozens of cat statues , scarecrows, pumpkins ect........I am tired of it. Halloween is long over the pumpkins are now sitting in the fields nobody is trick ot treating and as far as the quest for a crystalized Red, Blue and Yellow Essences I gave that up. That is long and such a grind for me the costume was not worth it. I did like all the new stuff and am glad we had it the week before halloween.

Concur, well done. As mentioned elsewhere, the few things that haven't worked so well (stuck sparklies) are receiving personal attention of the designer, manually fixing it as time allows. Great concept, design, execution, and from my view unprecedented follow through. Thanks to all involved, and a particular thanks to Sakkarah.

I LOVE everything going on. I am still running madly all over the place and joyously giving up sleep time! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Jack O Lanterns and the Scarecrows....and the Tapestry....oh yea...everything else too.

It meant alot that every single player (even new characters) can participate in this event and have a chance for the halloween deco since it spawns on low level monsters too. Halloween is meant to be fun and this has been a blast!

I would like to thank the people who are going around and manually unsticking the sparkles for us. Deceit...coug..cough... Center area of Despise level one..cough..cough...

Thank you UO Team for the best Halloween ever!!!

I've been places I had never been before. I've taken pictures with interesting creatures. I've explored my inner monster.

(I wish I could post this picture) I was in drake form trying to get recognition from my father the ancient wyrm. He's behind on his child support.

The cat statues are long long long overdue and I love them. They are the greatness. I have about 50 now and I wish I could get 50 more before the end but I doubt it LOL.

Thanks so much for the cat statues. I begged for years for them as I'm sure others have too. They look good and they made them able to be dyed. Too cool.

The whole crystal farming thing gets annoying FAST. And I'm sure they learned from their mistakes, but I gotta admit, overall, yea its been a fun event even though i griped about it at first.

I still think the ability for people to "steal" robes from another player is rather lame, but at least if your smart about it, you can avoid that.

P.S. The cat statues are awesome.

It's impossible for any game to continuously entertain you. UO has the biggest variety of things to do. Make up goals. Challenge yourself. Create your own fun. Use the tools UO provides and mix it with your own imaginative and creative ideas. Accomplishing difficult tasks gives a great feeling of achievement!

EG: Fill a house with Jack O' Lanterns to be used to make a maze puzzle for the kids to solve next Halloweeen. <<that would mean you'd have to clear pumpkin fields fast right now, to get enough pumpkins...

.. that does take work though. rolleyes:

My favorite part was when I was just recalling out of a room filled with traps, daemons, and other monsters in Level 3 Hythloth after collecting sparklies, on the last few seconds as I was recalling out I see another person collecting sparklies enter the room to head down stairs but ends up hitting a trap instead; I lol'd my arse off. Unless that person was very experienced or well prepared, RIP.

I like everything but the "do this 50 times before the big payoff" quest. 50 times (actually more like 100 times to get enough blues) isn't fun, not even the first run through. It's busy-work to keep us "engaged", when really all it does is keep us "occupied", which is always the poorer option. UO isn't WoW, and shouldn't emulate it in the worst possible way.

Otherwise, very imaginative gifts this year, even if some of them have to be "earned" through hours of grind.

Yes! I found it great running freely through dangerous dungeons without being attacked, and seeing everything in color, not grey and white. I started finding time to stop and "Smell the Roses" so to speak and would nearly forget the purpose for being there! Exploring the deepest recesses of dungeons I haven't been in for years, is rolleyes: nostalgic fun!!

A friend warned me to be careful. His "troll" timer had a bad habit of running out while visiting dangerous places like his favorite Ancient Wrym in Destard's bowels. heh heh
