let's compile a listing of the pro's & con's of having resisting spells on a warrior template. this way, we can have a definative list of reference when creating templates.
pro's:
reduction in stat loss from curse spell, can resist from low eval casters
reduction in length of necro curses
reduction of strength of pain spike
added protection from blood oath
resists magical poison, prevents heal blocking
resists paralysis, reduces duration
reduces effectiveness of mana drain & mana vampire
less dependance on items & curse removal
reduces effect of elemental resist reduction
super effective vs low end spellcasting mobs
con's:
stat loss from curse spells can be offset with potions & stat bonus equipment
curses can be dispelled with apples, remove curse
magical poison can be negated with vamp form and orange petals, does nothing for real poison
paralysis can be negated with glitched trap boxes
mana drain & mana vamp can be compensated with mana leeching
low mana pools benefit less from mana drain protection
skill points devoted cramps templates
120.0 or nothing skill for pvp, high end pvm bypasses resisting spells from very high eval int & magery
provides no benefit fighting non-magic foes
worthless vs discordance
evil omen negates skill
elemental resist bonus worthless in practicality vs players & high end mobs
