Guild shopping...

As I'd said in another post - I'm back to the game after a long break. I'm looking to really delve back into the game and so of course I'm looking and guilds and organizations.

First a little history of my UO playing.

I started on Day 1 of release, having missed my chance to be in beta and such. I was on Atlantic then (Catskills didn't exist anyway), and got heavily involved in the game. First guild I was in was Lost Order of Akalabeth, and then I moved to The Syndicate. Shortly after that I met Azalin and after hearing about his plans to start an evil roleplaying guild, I helped co-found Order of the Ebon Skull where I ran the Necromancer sect for quite some time. I was also involved with the somewhat-famed Pagan Magic Research Team - heh, we thought a lot of things in game were pointing to a hidden pagan magic (from Ultima 8) or necromancy skill - all red herrings it turns out, but we had fun!

When Catskills came online, it was immediately dubbed by the community to be "THE roleplaying server." I was involved with several groups here - Shadowclan (of course!), DarkRychen dark elves, GlamerVelt Elven Republic, and so forth - the old school, "founding" Catskills RP groups. Cats never became my "main" shard though.

Then due to 1000000000000 other MMOs coming online, I flitted away to various other games, coming back to UO here and there, never really "focusing" on it. The last time I played was probably 05 or 06ish.

Now I'm back, wanting to focus on the game, and on this server. I've got a few characters...

My "main" at this point would be Zariu Celith'ar - a female elf tamer (male in RL, playing female char). She was originally Ezekiel, a male human, but I converted the character into a female to be a drow/dark elf. Heh. Anyway, she's a peace tamer, 110 lore/103 taming/100 magery/etc/etc. Standard peace tamer with magery. I've also got Sirih Celith'ar, another elf female - a necro/fencer. Also have Bill the Bloody - who was meant to be a pirate for UP - he's a sword-using standard warrior.

I also have characters on Atlantic that will soon be moved here. The main thing is Pazuzu - my original "main". He's a mage and necromancer, not fully developed, but most of the main skills are GM and many of them are over GM. Also Nukoth D'hoffryn (bonus if you get where the surname came from!), a swords warrior, high 90s.

If you're curious about the RL-me, my personal blog is at http://www.sentence-ov-desire.net/

As far as what I'm looking for - I'd like roleplaying opportunities. I'm willing to gender change and race change and name change characters as needed. I mainly want to get into the RP side of things, with a good dose of PvM and of course occasional "sane" PvP, if such still exists.

I see what's out there - but I'm also curious as to what groups might need someone looking to really focus on the game and get involved heavily with a group. :)

And of course, I see the political situation on the server is ... interesting.

We're always happy to have more pirates!

As far as as far as what you're looking for, the pirates can offer all of that as well. We'll accept all elf and human characters, as long as they look the part.

We're primarily a role play guild with a hefty amount of PvM and a little bit of PvP, typically "RP-PvP" in Trammel, which enables us to keep it sane. Every once in a while, we venture into Felucca PvP, which results in our getting crushed most of the time, but we still attempt it (we're getting better! Just... slowly)

What we're looking for in the pirates is someone who is willing to make an effort and keep things in-character. We don't necessarily want the best of the best or the cream of the crop in any one realm of UO, but rather someone who isn't afraid to try any of the possible UO activities.

Anyhow, we have a boat race and an open market in our little village (Red Skull Bay, all around the shrine of Honor in Trammel, with the main focus being on the beach south of the shrine) on Saturday at 6 (boat race) and 8 (market). So why don't you come down and check us out?

And we do accept all character types. My own pirates are an archer, a necro-mage, a mage-tamer, a bok-ninja (Thanks Lynk and Cutter for the template ideas, it's working well so far!) and a samurai swordsman (Aneirin, Dedigan, Farsight, Mien and Path respectively). So if you see me in game, say "hi." And bring whiskey!

If you are interested in factions at all, House of Redemption |R| is an RP guild that is a part of the TB faction. Chances at group spawning, PvP, or just having fun. :)

PvP is not needed to be a part of |R|, we are just a part of factions to offer the chance.

Our forums are located here. http://house-redemption.proboards.com

My ICQ # is 380535655 if you have any questions about us. We're always looking for new people to be with us.

Well Hi! In addition to the aforementioned, the Purple Guardians of Honor would also like to give you our sales pitch!

Established in October 17, 1997 on the Catskills shard, We're the oldest continuously active and existing roleplaying guild (And I believe guild period) on the shard, and we've continued to be active with roleplay since day one. We currently have the largest player run town on our shard, the city of Olympus, which is located north of Trinsic across the bay, and our houses are almost all located amidst the treeline West of the Fens of the Dead (The swamp there).

We're heavily into roleplaying, and run several roleplaying events a month, as well as attend those of other roleplaying guilds. We do lots of PVM, with Peerless twice a week, dungeon crawls, and all sorts of other things. There is not a single aspect of the game aside from factions that we aren't involved in at some level.

We also are constantly active with the EM events, and we have a very rich history of being involved with such, and we encourage players to help run events and to help the EM's as well. We'd be very interested in helping you get situated, and you already have my icq, but you can also contact our GM's, who are Emperor Thom at 270755567, or Empress Piper at 205053278.
Look Forward to seeing you on the shard!

You all were so helpful, so it's sad I have to say this - but - I learned that some old, old (did I mention old?) friends are still playing on Atlantic, so ... I have moved everything back over there. :/

I left my pirate on Catskills though, so you may see me yet... Heh.

This could be a good thing actually, perhaps you'll drag these old friends over to Catskills.

Entirely possible - I do prefer Catskills, and always have, it's just that sometimes old friends > a better server. :/

Not some times my friend, most times. There is nothing a server could offer that would trump having friends to play with. When I returned to UO earlier this year I heavily considered Siege but stuck with Catskills because I had some friends returning too. I have not regretted that decision.

Heh, that's what brought me to Catskills in the first place.

Napa was my original home, but while I was on my six year break, my Napa friends all moved over to Catskills.

But I didn't transfer my characters to Catskills. Instead I created a whole new batch and started with only a house to my name.

How is your Catskills connection vs Napa? I do have to admit having a halfway decent connection does help when picking a server.

I play from Europe now. My Napa connection isn't playable these days.

Haha if all the old people I met over the 9 years of playing came back in a blaze of glory on Baja I'd be over there so fast to start up a giant PvP guild.

That would be until I got banned for some obscure reason that wasn't true. Although I do have better connection on Catskills. I've also aquired more wealth on Cats than I ever did on Baja.
