EA Store Stygian Abyss Sale and Error Warning

Good News!

Stygian Abyss is on sale over at the EA Store.

My son's friend tried to buy an upgrade code from UOGameCodes.com for his trial account but because it was not older than 30 days he wasn't allowed so he called me to see how he could get SA.

I said try the EA Store.

He found this:

He says he bought a new account code and received an email with an order code but no unlock code. He says he checked his EA Store account and there was no unlock code there either.

He asked me to log in on his EA Store account and see what was up.

EA Store is THE WORST website I have EVER tried to navigate my way through.

Login is tiny and in lower right corner but all that is for is to profile your gamer persona.

You MUST locate the customer service link and go there and then login again except that my son's friend and I both got this page:

Neither of us went any further.

I have NEVER EVER received such a warning about any website that I might share my credit card info with.

Horrible Horrible website!

I told my son's friend to call EA in the morning.

Wow, I guess it didn't do so well. Sadly, can't say I'm surprised... I'm going out on a limb and calling this the final expansion for uo.

I personally didn't think it sold well because unless you actually play or are interested in UO you wouldn't know there was an expansion to it... Put it on the shelves of stores and do an actually PR launch with store end caps just my 2 cents.. which is only worth 1/2 a cent

maybe they already made there money back and are marking it down to make it more appealing to the people that passed on it . Remember this is a division of EA, I personally think this expansion has at least made more money that their last soccer game that came out and probably cost less to throw it together.

There's no way lol. FIFA is an international megahit. It probably did cost less, but I'm sure it didn't make more.

UO would be considered an international mega hit also wouldnt it? my point is that EA sales more copies of UO in US than FIFA. Then also maybe Japan for that matter. Because remember overhead is the killer in budget fo any company. im gonna use the NFL for my example since i know more on football. EA has to pay out rights to John madden for using his name, to the NFL itsself for the license. and the players on the cover get a pretty nice royalties check cut. Not to mention the staff that creates and puts the info together on disc. so how many 10-15$ disc does EA have to sell to cover that cost before it becomes profit for them. And dont give me the games sell for 50$ bull****. because each store gets their cut of the profit and so does the middle man before EA gets their share. Why else after 7 months yo can pick up almost any EA title for 30$ Cause trust me wal Mart will never cut themselves completely out of their investment. So again lets review UO. 0 disc, 0 agencies to pay off, 0 royalty checks, and only the game developers that stay on staff. so again i say UO cost about 20% less for EA to market than any of their sports games goes. so factor in the cost of these products and i think UO would still be one of EA's better investments.

Considering every copy of the master disc only costs 7 cents or less to reproduce, not very many. Royalties are all paid in percentages of each individual sale, so every copy that gets sold after the initial cost of development has been paid for is pretty much pure profit.
