Hello, as is common with many UO players I don't quit I just take very long breaks. This past break has been 2 years and I am considering coming back. I play a tradesmen character and was curious as to how well a tradesmen does on Siege now. I know the last time I played on Siege I specialized in selling DP shurikens.

Many vendors struggle to keep up with demand...

Cool deal. I have been reading up a little bit about imbuing but not into any great detail yet.

Don't get me wrong... No crafters are immune Siege is what it is. It will take as long to learn the ins and outs of Siege as it will to train up. Are you coming back on a new character or one that is developed?

That being said... Well known crafters that run vendors that have fair prices and keep well stocked might receive some slack from some of us. Bartering is also an option on Siege.

Yes - crafters' goods are still much in demand. Do come back - Siege is the best place to be a crafter!

Siege is the only place to be a crafter.

I would be coming back on a developed character.
Well, then... Tell us what you are bringing. How can we assist you? Templates? Siege rules? just ask.

I was just mainly interested in how well a crafter can do on Siege now.

I'm having trouble remembering what my template was on there the last time that I played. I know I had poisoning, blacksmithy, mining, magery and arms lore for certain. But the rest is very foggy.

What complementary skills do you need for imbuing?

Seriously. If you have any vet picks left. Choose Soul Stone first. You need to leave on blank on Siege. If you can get three. That would be a great start.

After that the commodity box is really cool. Maybe the name your spot almost recall like personal gate...

I know squat about pvp here, cuz I play crafters.

But my blacksmith whom has NO poisoning, even sells his NON dp plain ore shurikens from time to time, as is unpoisoned, on my vendor !

I guess folks buy my dp and poison their own shurikens or they're tossing em unpoisoned.

I tried to raise the poison skill on my blacksmith and my scribe alchemist thinking..he could dp the shurikens my smith made and my BRAIN WENT NUMB at 34.9 and I quit several times. Sooo I guess poisoning skill just is not my cup of tea ! Too many skills to 100.0 and up as it is on my crafters *with souldstones* even !

So roughly guessing sir, and I do remember ye name here. Did ya not also have some carpentry when you were here ? On my carp. vendors the addon deeds still sell, and many storage containers still sell out well, and while less active furniture still sells, just slower than my addons and containers sell out. And if ya did have carpentry with SA yu can make chicken coops now ! :) They sell out too.

DP shurikens sell & will sell again.. esp if restocked all the time. And if not, lots of things you mine up will SELL for even more, what with newer gems and all now being so useful etc. that are mined up.

Ingots always sell too. And there are more uses with SA, for mined up granite and sand, nowadays too.

I would go all soulstones. Since you can buy commod boxes for about 900k and soulsones about 3mil...

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess my next big question is how hard is it to get started imbuing?

Not hard...just need SA upgrade and go to TerMur. There is a soulforge in the city for you to get started. Buy lots of citrines and amber. Go kill tons of low end monsters in ter mur to raise your loyalty (so you can use queens soulforge and place a house there if ya want). Take everything from monster bashing and unravel them at the soulforge. Buy a unravel bag from a npc it makes it alot quicker. Once you get to 25 imbuing skill start imbuing stuff. Read up on Tibs posts on how to raise imbuing. Be aware some people posts on how to raise the skill will cost ya about a million gold. I recommend reading Tibs posts...

Well I reactivated my account for atleast one month to see if I want to come back. Luckily when I quit last time I moved all of my stuff from my house to the bank so I dont have to start completley fresh.

You managed to get every thing from your house into your bank vault !!! ???

Dang I have not been able to achieve that goal, on any of my 4 older UO accts. ever !! ;)

Well there is lots of empty land space on Siege, so you should be able to place a home plot, if ya wish to do so, in lots of places !

I've seen DP shurikens from 2k to 3k on vendors. They seem to sell quickly.

You came just inches to becoming a statistic yesterday, as you can see in the photo you bar was pulled but that lil voice in your head told you to run back to town when you went accross the umbra bridge and you really did yourself a huge favor by listening to that voice.
