I only want to help the shard...
The thing is..... a vast majority of you pancake and moan about the lack of new players and how this server needs new blood then you come here and trash new players that decide to give siege a try.
I just dont understand the mindset of some of you guys. Either dont be such an ass here and learn to keep your comments to yourself (like that will ever happen) Or just let EA pull the plug on this ghost town of a server when you have ran off anyone that even thinks about starting here!
Look at half the post here..... 75% or more is a flame war against this player or that.
What would someone think by looking at these boards? The server is full of pre teen players that love to be board warriors and stroke their e-peen to make them feel like they are better then the next no skill super dragon stealth ninja template.
I hate to be the one that tells you this...... but I can train a monkey to hit an all kill macro then go into llama form and run off and hide then stealth back to loot a corpse. Ive seen more super dragon templates then I care to shake a stick at but you guys take the cake. Why not take the taming off your char and use one of the many soulstones you have and play something that is a bit more of a challenge... O wait you may loose your faction gear thats right!
To the mods..... You can remove this post if you feel that I have stepped over the line but I think some of the player base on siege need to have their ego's along with other parts of their anatomy put in check.

...Go check out the board fighting from other guilds on prodo...This is G rated compared to that ****.
You cant handle it, then get out.
Trust me I can handle the poo slinging and name calling on these boards....... It just seems that a select group like to paint new players with the same wide stroke of a brush just because they arnt "elite" due to only being on this server for a month or so.
My entire point is, as good as the siege community is, there is a lot left to be desired from a large portion of the player base.......... that is not only in game but here on the public boards. If you arnt in the "siege click" ie... one of the top tier guilds...you are treated as an outsider and never given a chance to prove your worthiness to fit in here, and on the battle field.
There has been a ton of trash talk here on these boards, and in game........ just because a new group comes here with more of a drive to succeed then what established players are used too, they are labeled cheaters/hackers/exploiters with nothing to back up their claim.
I guess that's my main point I'm trying to get across. Don't sit here and preach the holly-er then thou crap and point fingers and make assumptions just because a few select players on unfinished templates can come here and compete with junk equipment /gear compared to what the rest of the player base uses.

Aahh you must be in M-D. It is kinda sad that a few of your members give the rest of your guild such a bad reputation. In all honesty alot of people were excited to see a large pvp guild making its way here....and other that the normal garbage that gets thrown between opposing factions you would have been welcomed to the shard when you guys actively fought.
It's hard to take this seriously when a member of this guild was joking with us about his speed hack at Luna. Sorry.

What proof could you provide? When 100% of the people on the shard who have run into Elite Ninja or Native Canadian in the field can agree that these two people jump all over their screen and can outrun them when on foot, that should be proof enough.
Yes I am in MD...... Every server that we have ever played on we have been accused of running programs to either lag others out or speed around others. Contrary to popular belief the fact is there is no program that will cause another player to lag out.... period. Alot of us have tuned our machines to out preform others..... it is possible to change stuff in your computer to optimize performance without using any 3rd party programs.
As far as garbage that was in MD I am no fan of the key person you complain about. Id be glad to see him gone myself!(and I think he is finally gone hopefully)
There is no anger from me just facts. I have learned long ago not to get upset or angry over an online game.
Im sorry but after 12 years of playing UO.... I dont need someone holding my hand and walking me through the game. Fel rule set is where I started playing UO so Siege is nothing but good memorys from many moons gone by.
And again....... I expected players to keep beating this dead horse.....

As for MD: Wasn't MD the guild that did come through NEW, but they ended up looting the NEW house and were kicked? Not 100% sure, but I believe we did have some issues with either MD characters/or looting fairly recently.
As for where NEW players should start: Not sure. Haven is nice on prodo shards, as it gives them a beginning. Don't think we'll get anything like that, so I say leave it and drop em in Brit like it happens.

theres more to siege than "fel ruleset" . with the one player per acct rule, people get to know you are . even a name change deed wont help you as most folks pay attention to play / post styles and can eventually pick you out by your actions . if you personally are not cheating , good for you . seriously .

No Bruin, we have had a few MD members in NEW (for a very short time, a day or two) and I have to say personally I found them to be decent, and I may add, polite. My only issue at the time was that Mondain joined and as he's also Native C (which he denied the 1st time I asked after Albertus gave me a heads up, but admitted it the 2nd time I asked), he didn't have any need for NEW as he was already out pvping, he even offered to return the gargoyle lcr suit I gave him.
The issues we had with MD members who joined NEW were complaints about them fighting/helping others while in NEW, and those complaints came in more than they should have to be false or accidental.
The last to loot was Slug and his pals, they're not the same players.
One of the key reasons I came to Siege was due to this issue on the servers I have been on. Did I have to follow M D to Siege..... No I didnt... Do I agree with everyone or everything that has happened with some of the guys from M D? No I dont.... I personally like to think that I dont have to stoop to the level of certain current/x members of our guild. If I cant win due to being out classed then good for the one that can kill me!
I have seen several members of the Siege community that are in fact running "something" other then the client alone. But I will not point fingers as that is not my style.

An Evil Troll is my char........ yes its a stealth archer but he is a long ways from being even remotly close to done..... At one point he was playable but when I lost my faction gear I went back to working on archery.... hard to hit anyone with 80 archery! And no you didnt hear me cry about loosing the suit what so ever..... I know this is siege and you risk everything if you are not prepared and clearly I was not haha

I would like the chance to buy my stuff back as a stealth archer with no resist that is training still farming gold is quite a pain in the backside.....but if it cant be bought back I just wait and run around in gm gear....... which btw I did manage to gm tailoring yesterday! So I do have a mule with a few gm skills!
I hope your intentions are true. I would love to see another big guild come to Siege. More people to fight. But Diablo has given everyone here such a bad taste from his scams, exploits and constant lies. I always give everyone a chance. Cant wait to see ya on the field!

This *select city option* that gives us all no true selection, is a TRAMMEL Custom !
When I began UO, we got to SELECT A CITY for our newbies, in the then all fel ruleset every where on every shard, and our newbie chr. began where WE felt was best suited us for our newbie chr. The *select city option* once worked for us all !
Any option that gives us no option, since the advent of trammel, means we are HERDED LIKE CATTLE by the EA Mothership, to some 'newbie processing plant city' which we did NOT select at all.
True new customers get all concerned, thinking they messed up from the get go when they create a chr. in that they now all land in New Haven, even if they picked another tram city. They wonder what they did wrong in making their newbie, cuz they did not land where they *selected* to land ! Why offer the selection to them or us, when on all shards we are *herded* like sheep, into some pre determined EA newblet immigration landing spots ?
Granted we/they CAN freely leave where they toss us, and if we had half a brain in an all fel ruleset we would maybe LEAVE the city, where we know, that the entire shard knows that is the city which all the newbies are forced by EA, to land !
And we want this [non option option] trammel bleed over, to contiue for Siege ?
Siege is supposed to also be about freedom of choices, to be a murderer to not be a murderer, to come and go wherever we please of any hue, new or old alike. And for some if not many, whom come here, come here cuz of some feeling or hope for things to be freer here.

to get back on topic sweeny i doubt the location they start at is big enough of an issue to even vote on

What they need to do is get rid of the maximum skill gain per day. Keep a time limit between gains but allow a person to gain as much skill as they want/can. This would be awesome! No more gaining 5 points for the day, now its time to log off till tomorrow.

Until I can keep up with the above named chars when they are on foot, MD is suspect as a guild.
If you really care about your guild and their rep, then please tell your guildmates to play fair, TURN IT OFF (OR AT LEAST DOWN).
Back OT, why dont we let every new player just Start in NEW, not!
With all the things in UO that are broken starting postition is the least of my worries.
If youre in MD I doubt you will get your stuff back. Your posts here might even be considered you playing a role to get your suit back. As eventualy that is where you led the conversation after winning over our hearts and minds
I realize that you may find it hard to believe that someone from MD has morals....... As stated time will tell... you will have to wait to make the call on your own. As far as the one player everyone seems to have problems with...... including myself. I hope that he is really gone..... I personally dont care for the 16 year old little twerp...... I disagree, Native pk'ed my crafter and i was amazed at how many spells he cast to get the kill, I just assumed he would drop my crafter in a matter of seconds which is why I didn't even bother to run. Had I known it would have took him like 30 seconds I definitely would have made a run for it and gotten away. Now surely no speedhacker is that slow!

Back on the original topic...New players have everything they need with the option of joining the NEW guild and whatnot, there is no reason to make things easier for them! You guys may or may not realize it but you yourself create the Diablo type players by padding their way through the game in the early stages which ultimately creates BRATS! If you want quality players on the shard then let them do things the hard way and learn from their experience.
NEW guild imo is for supplying the new members with guidance and information on how to do things for themselves, not for people to hand them million dollar checks etc. etc. My 2 cents.

NEW members get 5k gold, a non-medable LRC suit (if needed), a -28 mage weapon (if training magery), runebook (if training magery), spellbook/chivalry book/necro book/bushido book/ninja book depending on skills trained, and throwaway weapon/armour - all of which they can refuse if they so chose.
Hardly a million gold check.
Other than that, they do get training guidance, explanations of the rules of Siege, and most importantly they get to hang out in a guild with other people to develop friendships.

I was referring to the outside interference from other players trying to help, not to the assistance of NEW. If I didn't believe in or support the NEW concept then I would kill NEW players, but I clearly DO NOT.
Call it what you may......... but ask anyone around on siege.... there have been no.... none....... zilch..... issues with me. If you want to believe this is shenanigans that is your rights. It just goes to show how narrow minded you and several others are on this server. And if that statement rubs you the wrong way... Im sorry but its the facts. One or two bad apples doesn't always mean the bushel is going to be rotten.
And just an fyi..... Diablo was here long before anyone from MD so it looks like you are using MD as a scape goat for an ongoing problem that we did not create!

The speedhack is really only evident when you are running. If he is standing still and casting why would you notice anything special? He's not exceptionally good at killing anyone on his own. He is exceptional when running away though.
