Some people say that the higher the monster the higher the chances of getting residue. From personal experience, fighting demons and dragons took me over half an hour to gather four, whereas the fastest it has taken me to gather four has been under 5 minutes from lowly ghouls with the odd lich thrown in.

Each time it varies, but if it was based on fame alone then such basic critters would be a waste of time, which they are definitely not. They are also one hit kills, so you farm quickly and the Halloween loot thus appears much quicker and more plentiful than from the larger critters.

I can get 12 from succubi in about 10-15 minutes or less. I suppose it has something to do with rate of respawn.

I think the only thing a mob's fame affects is what type of mob you get turned into.

4 from skeletons will get you the troll form.

4 from Daemons will get you turned into a terathan matriarch.

So kill whatever you can handle fastest. Preferably, ones that will insta respawn of course

4 swoops got me 4 in like 5 6 swoops, and a harpy body....

I finally got the Balron form earlier, turned in the reds for a mask, still got a skeleton. Yet the highest I've had, the Dream Wraith, came from terrathon/ophidian avengers.

If it is supposed to be affecting the mask I'm pretty sure it doesn't work.

It's not a myth, but if you can't kill a high fame monster quickly then it will seem like really slow drops to you. I can kill a succubi in 15 seconds with a cu if not less time, since I have disco.

Kill whatever has the highest fame that you can dispatch quickly. If the answer is nothing, hit a champ spawn and throw down EVs or just kill graveyard spawn and do it that way. I found graveyard spawn extremely slow though.

Ive gotten so many masks from every kind of monster. I haven't been a Balron yet though. The masks are random.

Harbinger seems to have a 1:2 chance. Of course, that means it could be several before you even get one, as its 1:2 each time...

I kinda believe the more farmers in the area, the less residue you get - usually it's something like 15 trogs to 4 residue for me, but whenever there are other people there, it can go on and on for several dozen trogs.

Use grass, spirt speak then use the grass on it again. I am getting several residue double drops from lichs and lich lords.

Trogs is working well for me. I get 9-12 before grass expires. But I and using Uber dragon and he kills them uber fast

I went to painted caves, as being a fast spawn for quickest results - and found a lonely dragon with corpses all around his feet.

So I used the grass on all the bodies and came away with 8 residues

ROFL, someone must have left to get more grass or something and came back to a room full of green bodies lol. If I came back to find my corpsed already grassed I would be upset lol.

I've been farming shame. I find that my pally armed with an earth elemental slayer using EoO gets one hit kills 9 out of 10 times. Generally I'm getting my 4 residue well before my grass expires. Its a little camped during prime time, but the 1 hit kill gives me a bit of an advantage over some of the other hunters there. I'd say I'm able to complete the quest every 20-30 minutes. I could drastically streamline that time if I'd get off my lazy butt and mark a few runes so I can recall directly there rather than to my house, run upstairs, find the book in my library and recall out again.

It might be unintentional, but why shouldn't ghost whisperers get a bump on Halloween. If they look like Jennifer Love Hewitt, I'd hand over my white residue too.

I killed four balrons (more than that but four for post's sake) and got Drake form for getting souls

Someone ought to try using grass on all of the Gauntlet Bosses. I wonder what you would turn into? Probably Balron but who knows.
