More Character Slots

EA potentially stands to lose revenue due to people consolidating accounts. I'm willing to bet this is the main reason it will never happen.

Although I don't think many people would consolidate as that would require dropping a house.

I doubt EA would lose much money. 95% or more of their business comes from Prodo shards, so people consolidating here wouldnt hurt them, and as you say, people dont want to drop houses.

What would most likely happen is there will be accounts with a red and blue pvp/pk or pvm charatcer, as the skills on the stones are battle related, and the alt account would have two crafters splitting the skills off stones, one traditional crafter, and one gargoyle with imbue and myst for enchancing the items made by the traditional crafter... allowing quick crafting, without having to swap skills to and from stones.

I too would love to have 2-3 slot. Make it so if your account do have 6 slot on normal shards, allow 2 slot on Siege, if account do have 7 slot, allow 3 on Siege.

I don't think I would close any account as I have 2 account I only use as house holders, more slot would not changes that but I would be able to test some new templates.

I want it cause I could work several skills in ROT on different characters instead of only getting to work the one skill.

You could work skills on the other character and not have so much down time on your main character. Then switch them between characters with soulstones.

This and the fact that I could try a mage out here and there and not have to slowly change dexer stats to more mage friendly ones

I had voted yes originally but now that soulstones do not have a timer I feel that serves a similar enough purpose that I don't think a second slot is neccessary anymore.

Thats true, but I still think it would be nice to be able to work skills on the second character without taking your main outta action.

Id love to be able to make a tamer and show the tamers that are here how it feels to have to fight a high level pvp tamer. My tamer template wouldnt have the skills of hide or stealth

I think more slots would be great for the shard, That is one of the reasons people dont come here from other shards. (In my opinion.)
Also it would make people do spawns again because there would be a large demand for stat and power scrolls.
There would be more people out farming stuff because they can have one char set as a PVP Char and the other as a Pvm Char.

yeah, now with no timers, just get some soulstones.
id rather have second house for siege than second char myself

Siege was built on the premise of one character per player. Accountability and all that jazz.

A simpler answer though - UO client doesn't support 2 characters per account. It's either 1, or 6-7 (whatever the current number is).

That's just silly talk.

Anyone with basic programming knowledge knows it is simply a matter of incrementing a variable.

Buy an extra character token and use it... all it will do is run a line of code:

account.charmax++;

bringing the new maximum characters allowed to two.

account.charmax = 2;

of course the coding would be a bit more complex to make sure there is a cap at two, so you cannot use multiple tokens and have 30+ characters.

This says it all. The only difference now is races and stat gains (unless max stat gains per day were changed as well).

I wasn't playing SP when that vote came around. The one character slot is what kept me from coming to Siege. Since it was opened up.

I started playing UO in December 97 and when I think back it was more like a wild wild West Siege than what Siege is now.

Anyone remember what is was like when we didn't have stat caps?
There were walkin talkin giants in the world then.

I know I've just staked a claim in Siege and I've got alot to learn but I wouldn't trade the experiences and bonds I've made here for 15 Soul Stones and a castle on any another shard.
