Confused Again.......

Although I have two very long term active accounts I rarely play anymore. I purchased Stygian Abyss for one of the accounts. So, am I correct that the only difference between my two accounts will be that one will have access to the new areas and new housing tiles, etc. but that it will still be viewed in the original 2D play style and look?

And what happened to Kingdom Reborn?

Just found this during a search.......As of September 2009, the Kingdom Reborn client has been superseded by a modified version of the KR client, now called the "Enhanced Client".[2] The Kingdom Reborn client no longer works on official shards. The new "Enhanced Client" keeps the rendering engine (including particle effects and light source rendering) from Kingdom Reborn, but not the KR graphics.

OK, so there is no longer the enhanced map and the friends lists and things of that nature????

As I mentioned, I really do not play anymore. Just cannot give up my long time houses and items and love to get all the new gifts as they become available.

I did have the KR version at one time and I know what that map looked like. I also seem to remember you could target people and add them to a friends' list but I might be mistaken on that. Anyway, I did go to the EA Store and bought the the Stygian Abyss upgrade for the one account but, truly, outside of being able to create a gargoyle and go to new areas I am not seeing anything different.

My UO account shows I upgraded but, when I go to my programs files for EA games, it only shows I have the Samurai Empire and 9th Anniversay Edition installed. Nothing about Stygian Abyss. Should this be listed there also?

I did get an email which gave me two codes to use. One to upgrade the account and one to get a gift ingame.

So, I guess I am just stupid and do not know how to turn on the enhanced features such as the map.

Any help is welcome.

*sigh* No, I had not downloaded the new enhanced client. Actually was not even aware that I needed to do so. I guess I thought it would automatically patch once I upgraded my game.

And, to be honest, the email with all the instructions on what to do after I had purchased the upgrade did not mention downloading the enchanced client. Just explicit instructions on how to go to my account page to upgrade the game and how to get my promotional item. Sad they did not think to mention the downloading of the enchanced client.

Anyway, I thank you wholeheartedly for giving me the URL to the download. I am doing it as I type this. Hopefully, all will be resolved and I will not need to bother anyone again. HeHe!

the advanced client and the expansion are two totally different things.
The expansion is available to both clients, and tbh most of us think it's the best expansion yet.
There are so many new things to do and make, so much to explore.
Being able to buy carpet pieces to make large carpets, being able to make stains to dye more things than before, being able to make baskets, imbuing, which enables us to tailor our character's armour and equipment. It's going to take me months to get it all documented on Stratics.

I fully agree with Petra, the advance client is not part of or needed for the expantion, I only recommended trying it to get the mapping features that Maia was trying to get working.

There are many other reasons to use the new client
I have been using it since I have returned and havnt had the need to launch the old client yet.
