I too have seen this phenomenon (with the mules) on Napa, my home shard. I also have seen this on Austin and Baja. The owner of the proselytizing mules in question belong to the WRR (i.e. Whispering Rose Radio) and in particular a conglomerate of Luna shops and accounts owned by a user named "Nabin".

This person (or persons) own a large majority of the Luna buildings on Napa and several of the west coast shards. They pretend to be brokers by selling their plots periodically, but they always sell to the same group of people - nothing more than a round robin of property.

I happen to believe in pure logic and rational materialism. I find the presence of the Whispering Rose Radio both intrusive and offensive. However, I can accept the presence of their "church" (right outside the main entrance of Luna) if legally obtained.

The question begs though:

Are those accounts (WRR) given a free ride by the devs just because they show up at r/l events with a mic?

How do we report such indiscriminate violations of the TOS?

its not wise to reopen a thread about a subject that a mod has locked =/

But, at the same time... how does someone owning a lot of accounts and houses violate the tos? what free ride are you talking about? maybe im misunderstanding your post..

It's not wise to anything against those who are sympathetic to an particular cause.

*shrug*

That doesn't mean it's not a valid question for all UHall members, if not the dev, who look almost solely at this thread. Stop silencing courteous dissention.

Nothing in particular violates the TOS except for the implementation of their privileges. It's one thing to use your ability to corner the UO homespace market to buy and sell homes, vendors, etc.

It's quite another to manipulate the market to buy property and use it to further your religious agenda - then sell it to another one of your religious friends (whenever you get a complaint) - only to have them sell it back to you when the fervor cools.

hey i agree, i'm sick of every shard having a big deal or no deal house, then seeing them only get used once every couple months (or less).

How the heck does WRR have anything to do with this? Whats the point of picking on them?

Manipulate the market?

Please explain.

And you can sell houses to anyone you want. Religious friend, or hated enemy.

Am I the only one who has picked this up? Hell, the damn mules on Napa cite their WRR radio sources. WRR has been associated with a huge network of christian sites across the UO shards. Perhaps they aren't all that vocal about it. But it seems rather insidious to me that they use their influence to abuse the system and get away with spamming bible readings on some shards. - that's not very nice of them.

The market is flexible, the terms of service addressed in the previous thread are not.

Unless you happen to be a respected and coddled member of the UO christian community, of course.

I dont really care for a church in UO, and I hate having the packhorses spamming near the moongate and bank.

But as far as Nabin, I got a luna house from him and I know of other people who have also. So I dont know what kind of group your talking about, but I havent seen anything like that. I think he does charge alot for the homes, and if you can afford his price then he will sell to you.

I also know that if you do buy a house in luna you can make all your gold back in a few weeks or months. I paid about 450mil in gold and items for mine. I have made 3 times that already, and I only play 5 to 8 hours a week.
