Template question

Standard Sampire template:

120 swords
120 bushido
120 parry
100 anatomy
100 tactics
85 necro (+15 from midnight bracers, vamp embrace just fine)
65 chiv (for rez)
= 710

85 risist on stone (+15 from jewlery for 100) to switch out for anatomy.

I have a skill cap of 720 from account age. What the heck do I put the extra 10 points in? Any benefit from adding it to either anatomy or tactics?

You take 5 out of chiv then put the rest in necro so you don't have to use crappy sleeves.

I actually have a +15 necro bracelet. It's just replacing the resists.

I'd recommend 99 real necro skill, otherwise you'll have to recast vamp form each time you recall/run across server lines. :-/

Not true. I can sacred journey anywhere, enter dungeons from the entrance, go from Tram to Ilsh to tithe at a shrine all while staying a vampire. I'm never not a vampire so I don't constantly lose karma.

When training parry I remove my multi-million $ armor and train in demon armor while wearing the bracelet. Which is actually +20 necro. So there is no need to raise my necro up from 85.

Hmm...doesn't your armor toggle on/off when you log in and out, move across server lines, take a moongate, etc? Each time my skill jewels came off, it bumped me out of vamp form. That's why I brought real necro to 99.

I died accidently (lol) last week. After getting rez'd, I have been a vamp since then. It might be the way I constucted this character.

ya takes couple second before u get taken outta form...i have 65 real necro and 15 bracelet and midnight bracers and i never get taken outta vamp unless i die. u need to put the 10 points into chiv so less fails on eoo and other spells.

Swamp dragon question. Which kind do I want my tamer to go after?

There aren't kinds of swamp dragons :/

Well, tamable and Proxy, but unless you loot/buy a Proxy you just get any swampy.

Gotcha thanks. I meant the proxy and regular but couldn't find anything on the proxy.

Yup. Anyway, I'd go with a tamable one first, wait a week to bond it then put some exceptional armor on it, then if you really want that Proxy dragon solo Prox for it. It gives a lesser damage reduction, I think, but it also has unbreakable armor, so your choice. I personally go with Proxy swampy just so I don't have to mess with barding all the time.

According to UO Guide:

"Although the Chief's version shares the vital statistics of any other Swamp Dragon, it has one extra feature. It comes with a permanent set of Dragon Barding applied that grants a 12% damage reduction to it's rider in PvM combat.

Standard armor, in comparison, can be damaged and destroyed over time, but comes in two flavours - a 10% reduction for the standard model, or 20% if exceptionally crafted."

I'm thinking, get one and put the exceptional barding on it. Even though it does break, the 8% damage reduction difference can make a huge difference.

Looking at the traffic on the forums it looks like I might get and answer to my original question.

If you're going to make the bracers a permanent part of your suit, then I'd put the extra points into Chiv to reduce the failures on EoO, DF, and other Chiv spells that you'll use. You'd get more overall damage increase from successfully casting Chiv spells than you would with a small tactics or anatomy bump.

I'll use the bracers until my jedi skills are complete (oops wrong MMO lol). Then I'll try and lay my hands on an assassin suit I guess. So I will toss them into Chiv then. Thanks Connor!!!

Wait hold on. In the long run, it makes more since to put them into necro and free up the jewelry slots for other needs. Duh.

That's why I made the comment about making those a permanent part of your suit. Any time you use +skill items in your suit, and use those points in a skill in which you MUST HAVE those points in order for the template to work, you become married to those items, which I never suggest. In that case I'd go with what you've already thought of, putting the points into Necro where they belong.

Umm....Jander, thats why there's a template. It says 60 Chiv and 99 or 100 Necro. The next time I become a complete dumba*s somebody smack me in the head. Ok? :coco:
