I know some may consider it myth, but usually when I fizzle on spells I normally don't and then summon food/eat I rarely fail again.

Everyone has a bad run once in a while. I have 115 Magery and I've fizzled 9 EV's in a row.

Seriously, the RNG is a tad bit off. Say what you will, but when im wearing a 99% LRC suit and I'm missing regs 3 times in a row... something is messed up. I mean I fizzed an EV at 120 with prot and RA on. FIZZED AT 120!!

Honestly, there needs to be a few fail safe systems in place to help the player feel more enjoyment instead of frustration. 9 failed EV casts in a row at 110 is pretty ridiculous. Just one EV fizz can make or break a crucial moment.

I think a system similar to the arty drop one should be implemented for most things in game. I'm not talking about dumbing down the game but, for example, should you fail on an EV give the player a 5% bonus on casting the next one. Obviously they would have to look at each skill/spell/craftable/etc independently.

And when you factor in that someone has spent ALOT of time trying to achieve something in game (like 30 unsuccessful attempts to breed a battle chicken) i think they are long past due in getting their just rewards.

It's a game, not gambling.

That would be a cool critter idea though - making spellcasting more difficult in a radius around it.

there's been a million posts about how the rng is not very random at all - it's fairly obvious they've built in some serious stupidity into the algorithm but what I don't understand is that after all this time of people complaining about it and them not doing anything about it, it's becoming fairly obvious that they're never going to do anything about it so why do you waste your time posting about it every day, every week, every month for years and years and years and years, expecting a different result

they're NEVER going to fix it - accept it and move on already jeez

I'm sick of seeing posts about the rng - it's never going to change - stop posting about it - they know, we know, get over it

they must just sit in their cubicles reading the daily posts about the rng and just evilly laugh to themselves - I can't think of any other explanation other than it's just sadistic pleasure they're getting out of it - nothing else makes sense and you're just playing into it so stop

How high your Magery is has nothing to do with the total LRC you have. You can fail 20 times in a row with 120 Magery if you don't have 100 LRC.

Hmm.. I've fizzled twice recently on e-bolts from a 115+ mage with protection on!!

I assumed it was related to the way you can make recalls fizzle by casting another recall in the delay before you are actually relocated... (even from a runebook charge i think?)

But I don't remember fizzling on a low level spell on that mage for some time!

It's been that way for more than 3 weeks. Congratulations, you fell victim to a bad string of RNG. It's not the end of the world. Have an apple, step outside.

Thats why we have 7 or 8 chars with 120 magery. Its the only way to actually cast a level 8 spell without having a lot of drama at bad moments.

lol that's weird coz my crafter with magery of 80 with gear has seen an increase in her success of gating recently. Where as before she was fizzing atleast four times before hand it's every other casting ^^b

This was not a bad run or if it was it was persistent over probably 30 to 45 minutes down there.

Most of the time was getting a handle on how I was going to tame one and then get it out.

I just chalked the first 3 or 4 bad runs up as just that, an annoying oddity but ...

By the 15th to 20th time I became convinced this was something more than a bad run.

I just realised, you probably tried to tame the iron beetle where they spawn? In such a setting I can see why you'd be cursing your bad luck. It seems rather hectic just being there without needing to beat down & tame a beetle also. Best to herd it out of there to somewhere quiet. As for getting it out, you can recall/log out/log in.

In the end the taming part was easy, the getting it out was easy. It was in fact clearing, controlling and establishing the area that was ... a challenge.

Had the spells worked as they should or least did, once upon a time, then this would not have been nearly as big a deal.
