argh, i realy hate delay´s, we are doomed to lethargie now, pls any time line to give?

'Later this afternoon' could do with a little clarifying please - we're just hitting pretty much prime time playing for Europa, currently 17:39 on a Friday evening... is it still planned to bring Europa down some point in the next 6 hours, and to have the usual downtime as well, or is the intention now to hang on until the next standard downtime anyway?

I would rather they fixed the dissapearing pets than rush the publish.
Exactly. They are doing exactly what they should be doing. Id rather we have to wait a few hour now then spend many many hours training a new pet because ours was lost due to a bug. Very good call on the Devs part.

better they would "say" nothing bevore the bugs are fixed.

Nobody's disagreed that it needs to be in the fixes... but the pet problem is, as far as has been said, only on Origin at present. I'm not sure why there's a rush to bring the publish to everyone else, especially if it means a server down fairly close to the regular server downtime anyway.Exactly. Fix Origin fast, makes sense. Have double the usual downtime on other shards.... makes less sense.
The reason that the bug is only on Origin is because Origin is the only shard that already has the Pub. Thats why they are delaying the release to the rest of the shards... to make sure they get it fixed before releasing it to everybody else.
But since the Publish has had less than a day on test and Origin, and so - despite maybe having some useful or important bug fixes in it - is NOT tested, and the 'fix' for the pet problem is obviously not tested at all - why is there such a rush to get it out? The point of TC and Origin is to test things, not just slam stuff on them, go 'yeah, looks cool', and drop it on everyone else before the weekend......
When did they announce the publish was going to be this morning?
There were "the server is going down" messages in-game this morning that were later canceled.

I've been taking care of my sick grandson so I've missed a bunch lately. Is the delay in the publish a delay in it going to other shards, not just Origin? Maybe we will get it on LS this afternoon?
Would be sure be nice if so (of course only if they get the problem fixed) because my husband is out of town and I could actually play some this weekend!

it amazes me that no matter what they do people complain ! I think they did the right thing ! I think if they feel they can get the publish out today then go for it! If something comes up and they cancel it till later then thats ok to!

Are the servers going down?
Is Europa going down?
What time are they going down?
How long will they be down for?
Will normal maintenance be cancelled?
Will there be a more detailed announcement answering the obvious questions above?
Should I redecorate my house? (ok not so obvious)
But seriously, I had no idea that there would be a publish tonight/this morning, I knew it was on the TC, i knew Origins had got it but the only notification that there was gonna be a publish to all the other shards was a 2 second window, ingame earlier today? seriously? thats not very good.
What now? will we get a 1 hour ingame warning? Its prime time here in the UK, friday night prime time, why patch the servers now? on a friday? surely it would be wiser to do this on monday morning when the staff are inhouse and ready to monitor the update?

While I agree to a certain extent (sooner the better) friday evening/afternoon is not a good time to do this, but either way, whatever they decide to do, they should at least tell us whats going on, i could have made other plans this evening.

Maybe I am missing something here, but I'm not sure anyone has said or implied that they wanted them to publish irregardless of whether or not they fix the issue. I think most want the issue fixed but are just hoping that both can be accomplished, the issue fixed and the shards published.
If my guess is correct, a change that was included in Publish 61 (so far only affecting TC1 and Origin) would have caused the following problem on all other shards after they received the same publish: Every unbonded pet and every pet acquired before late May 2008 that isn't constantly ridden or has something in its pack would put itself in the stable approximately 4-10 minutes after the server recognizes it is in the game.Not looking good for any new publish today. Its getting later in the afternoon.

Maybe the publish was already scheduled and they were hoping to fix the pet bug before all the shards were suppose to get published?
I have to agree, they did the right thing by not putting the publish through to all the shards.
Believe me, I would rather the publish get delayed to fix it, then see 1000 posts from players complaining their pets disappeared and did or didnt go into the stable.

I think we all need to give a big thanks to the folks on Origin for finding this out before it hit the main shards and a big thanks to Mythic for doing something about the information provided from the players.
Also, lets all be thankful that the pets disappearing was not permenant.
