Its a twenty percent reduction in (melee?) damage. No way is it 20 DCI.

My question is why do they have to be so goddamn ugly and of an oriental aesthetic.

They are so ugly I can hardly bear to use it in the EC.

They were always overly large and disruptive, now they are large and stupid looking.

Personally I would like to know how the durability is managed because in some instances, it seems like it breaks extremely fast. I would like to see it work like the rest of the armor system with a shown durability ##/##, and possibly have the ability for smiths to repair them (and smith repair deeds).

Non-exceptional armor could be 150/150 to start, and exceptional could be 255/255. That would balance out the difference (IMO) between the Paroxysmus dragons and the normal ones.

The barding breaks very quickly. For the price of 750 ingots, it should last a lot longer.

Nope, and I dont like the iron color ones, so I have to pay 40k - 100k for decent colors.

They are all the same strength. Some last me 2 days some last longer. I cant tell that there is a linear formula that determines the breaking.

The problem IMO though is that players can buy paroxysmus swamp dragons which have I believe 10 or 12% damage reduction and the armor never breaks. So in comparison, when you buy dragon barding deeds constantly for upwards of 25k (unless you make them yourself), the gold adds up at the rate at which they break. It would be nice if they lasted longer, or at least gave the player the opportunity to repair them like normal armor (but without the ability to PoF it).

Is it breaking more quickly with the current durability 'design oversight' enabled?

Dragon barding condition can be found by using Arms Lore on the dragon while dismounted. This can be done by anyone with 0 skill at 100% chance to succeed. There are several stages the armor goes through so you'll know when it's getting close to being destroyed.

For the record, the damage reduction for each type of barding is as follows:

Non-Exceptional (any ore color)- 10%
Paroxy Swampy- 12%
Exceptional (any ore color)- 20%

Ore color has no bearing on the longevity of the barding.

Additionally, barding deeds of any type can be insured, so you can carry extras and still retain them if you die.

I didn't really know about the armslore part. I would still like to see the armor be revised to work like normal armor with the ability to be repaired, without being able to be PoF'd.
