If you dont have colored wood, then this.all my adventuring chars run around with unravel bags now. I have a chest just to drop off bags.
They need to be exceptional oak bows; non-exceptional doesn't work.Oh, I make oak bows.
Um, whatever you can kill fast that gives lots of loot is good. Or treasure chests and loot everything in them. Those give gems too.
Bake kitsunes give lots of items, I get a lot of good stuff to imbue and unravel from fairy dragons, but that hurts my karma. I think regular
dragons give good loot and gems...hrm.
Yes, I know that because I make oak bows to unravel. *points up*They need to be exceptional oak bows; non-exceptional doesn't work.Oh, I make oak bows.

More like if you don't have a carpenter or fletcher. I think I might end up making one, make max + trashcans ought to make it go somewhat easy. Can't be worse than just farming stuff at least. If you do not have a lumberjack then farming monsters is the only way.
I have done both and I can say that if you are going for residue only, getting oak boards is unreal fast if you have books of fel marked oak tree location compare to killing monsters.
Ender, if you have any intention of using the high end ingredients for imbuing, you have to farm anyway. Carry around an unraveling bag and toss in loot. Hang on to anything you can't unravel because most likely those things will unravel into essence and relics. It is worth it to have gm carpentry and gm fletching though.More like if you don't have a carpenter or fletcher. I GM'd Carpentry from 52 in about 6 hours last week so that I could make myself a soulforge (they were hard to find then). It's ridiculously easy if you have enough wood sitting in your bank box.More like if you don't have a carpenter or fletcher. I'm sure you could find people to trade you at least 3:1 (3 MR for 1 EE) and probably 5:1 even, since lots of people have lots of MR but need more EE, especially if they're turning it in to get 115s to turn into 120s. What shard are you on?I'm hoping to legendary it as soon as possible, I just hit GM. And out of residue again, lol.
But on the other hand I have 3 relic fragments (3 whole fragments!) and like, 1300 enchanted essence. Too bad I can't just trade those for residue. *hint hint*
<_<
Is an unravel bag a special item? Where do they come from?
I got about 35k regular boards. Enough?I GM'd Carpentry from 52 in about 6 hours last week so that I could make myself a soulforge (they were hard to find then). It's ridiculously easy if you have enough wood sitting in your bank box.
Swoop is slow, I did it for 12 hours on atl one day alone. 12 items every couple of mins. 13 if its some special item.Swoops works, or you could sit around and loot night-eyes while everyone else is farming.
I can't remember exactly how many I went through (I have an absurdly large number of boards in storage), but I'd guess it was under 50k.I got about 35k regular boards. Enough?
And I'm on Great Lakes.
Actually, this is wrong, or at least not optimal. The highest chance of exceptional with lowest wood use is making oak bows. With a talisman, it's easy to get to 100% exceptional yield (92.5% at GM without a talisman) making bows at 7 wood per. Making bokutos takes 6 per try, with at best with a great talisman about 83% yield (65% at GM without a talisman), making that an average of 7.2 wood per try. Not to mention that you have to sort out the non-exceptional bokutos. So, for wood yield and time investment, oak bows are better.*shrug* Oak Bokuto *make make make* unravel (highest chance of exceptional for lowest wood use.)
...
if you have 60k board in the bank you can, like me, make a gm fletcher in 18 hrs, stand at the right hand entrance to luna bank, fill pack with boards and make bows, target the bower in the shop and sell them as you make themMore like if you don't have a carpenter or fletcher. I started with a little over 30k I am currently at 87.x imbuing with about 10k boards to go and about 2k residue in a chest. I've been making oak bows and unraveling them.I got about 35k regular boards. Enough?
And I'm on Great Lakes.
Better yet, try imbuing luck on weapons you've made with the DC runic hammers. Then unravel those. You will use fewer residue because the runic made weapons already have intensity versus plain GM made weapons....
I had half a dozen DC and Shadow runics I used, but those ended up giving me a mix of residue and essence. 35k should be close to the mark. You could make it work if you are unraveling items after one imbue to get the most return on your materials. I imbue 10 times before unraveling personally. I'm hoping that oak will at least get me to GM. I have yet to set a plan for my trip from 100 to 120.
better chance of gains for lower resource use too because of the properties the runic puts on.Better yet, try imbuing luck on weapons you've made with the DC runic hammers. Then unravel those. *chuckle*This hobo who lives behind the quick stop gives me all I want for free, he just makes me close my eyes and suck it out of a hose... Its pretty easy. Essence tastes terrible BTW.
