Experimental room?

Ok i finally managed to get all 3 of the puzzle boxes near the entrance done in time and my reward was an Experimental gem.

When i click on it it tells me to use it at the doors to the experimental room?
Can somebody point me in the general direction of this room as i cant find any maps with this on it?

There are 2 sparkly gates in the room with the undead monsters in the underworld. The secret door is in the very middle of those 2 sparkly teleporters. Click the wall in the middle of them.

Experimental Room

I just looked through 14 pages of threads looking for one that had information on the experimental room.

Can anyone tell me where the experimental room is?

Theres a map on that page if you scroll down, Its on the left, you need to stand between two statues in the large grey room and open the door when you have the gem I think.

In the Underworld is a room with undead and 2 teleporters. Right in between of the 2 teleporters are 2 pilars. Inbetween them is a secret door. Thats the experimental room.

Can anyone comfirm to me that these rooms are working?

I can get to the 2nd room but no further since it gives me Dark green and Brown, which are in the 3rd room?
So in the 2nd room its using all 8 colours on the gem but you only have 6 colour options to choose from..???

Needless to say i threw the gem away before i ended up putting my fist thru the computer screen.

The rooms are awesome! They work fine but sometimes it takes a lil time to change colour

I threw the gem away too. If I wanted to play twister I'd do it with a hot chick not in UO.

Sigh, I got to the third room about 20 times but I kept getting lag-screwed. I even closed out all my applications except UO. BTW I was doing "always run" so as to not be slow, I'll try the teleport thing next time.

When you get dark green, just stand in the light orange tiles for 2 cycles to neutralize it gradually.

If you get brown, stand on the light green tiles for 2 cycles.

Btw, I kept getting tricked when it turns brown, it looks nothing like orange...So now I tell myself if it turns brown, just go to the green tiles. Working well for me so far.

I can't get the hang of using teleport.

Instead, I just stick to the 4 colours on the west side of the 3rd room. I'll stand at the one of the 4 tiles where the 4 colours meet. Then I just need to walk 1 tile to the correct one, instead of trying to run across the room.



Finally, 1 more tip for first timers, don't rely on the messages! Open your main backpack where the gem is in, and drag it to the top center of your play area so that you can keep a constant eye on it. This way you can quickly see exactly what colour it is.

When you said brain, that's very true - colour blindness can be in the brain rather than the eye.

Is yours red-green? My buddy has red green colour blindness, and whenever we play snooker with him, we'll tell him which is the brown ball. Initially he had a problem with the green as well, but over time, he learned to tell the green ball apart.

I guess this puzzle is quite unfair for you...

Teleport worked great for me! Though in that last room I was teleporting, then precasting and running towards the middle so I wouldn't try to teleport too far away or have the area visually blocked by my backpack (holding the gem so I could see the color change).

I'm actually pretty good at running as long as I don't lag out. But teleporting is definitely easier.

i seem unable to do the experimental room, main trouble i have is the "door is now open" text hovering over which tile to go to having to check journal and thereby not fast enough, they really aughta fix that..

Change how long you have text on screen.

And the regs were mine for casting, I dont' have a 100% LRC suit on that character. The only thing the color room drops (afaik) is a million stalagmites, tapestry, ringmail top and bottom, plucked chicken, wall hanging and uh there was one other thing...but definitely only deco items.

This. In the first room I stick with the west side. 2nd room I always return to the middle as soon as the gem turns, and in the 3rd it is again back to west side only. It takes a few more color cycles doing it this way (pretty sure you only get a 1/2 correct if you use a lesser tile to deal with greater or a greater + lesser to deal with a lesser) but it DOES work. I completely ignore the words and stick with the colors on the gem.

Are you reading the responses? The regs were brought for casting. The tapestry in the top left of the pack was the reward.
