Some Problems on Siege Perilous need to go away ...

I suggest to the players of Siege Perilous to not sale or buy well known
old developed accounts to other players.

How does anyone know who is who? It is not enough for the seller to post
on this forum that their well known name is under other players control.
The sellers should accept that they are responcible to the actions of others
who use these well known named accounts as posers.

The deception by others undermine the trust of the community.
But, the game allows deception...so the sellers just need to restrain
themselves from selling old accounts.

Name change + EA transfer service would eliminate most of the account related "scam" problems, but that also adds around $50 USD cost to an account sale, and most people are unwilling to do that when they can just trade for game gold, with the risk.

I actually think Blizzard's policy against account trading, and sharing is a good one although they can't enforce it 100%, they do a pretty good job considering the number of accounts they are dealing with.

That's never gonna happen you know why? Because people are greedy for items and gold and they'll buy from know scammers, then why wouldn't they sell to scammers either? And if their greedy for gold and items then MONEY for accounts is a great deal! Me personally, i blacklist scammers.

I'm actually slightly surprised this is a problem: aren't most prominent people in a guild? (I'm new back, so I may well be totally wrong). I also assume that many trades, and many identity issues, happen when an account is traded between people in different guilds...

So if you see someone with a guild tag they shouldn't have, or without one they should have, then you could at least ask...

*edit* Since the other thread seems to be gone, I'll say it again. Siege justice is a joke because with 2-3 weeks of the (alleged) scam, the (alleged) scammer is doing business again with impunity. Stratics (*not* mods) protects them by warranting post deletions instead of moderator editing of names. Therefore, any (alleged) wrongdoing is swept under the rug, so to speak. Even were it not, due to greed most of the population will deal with these (alleged) crooks anyway within a few weeks.

It's up to the honest players to make sure it's stopped and the scammers blacklisted or at least named, then others won't be so naive next time. It's fooking disgusting.

I can remember a couple years back when everyone was trying to get all the players to come try siege, i told you guys way back then to be careful what you wished for cuz once all these new players started coming to this shard that things here would surely change. Just take a look around today. This is why you want to keep a tight, close, and limited community. Now what I am seeing is a ripple affect..people getting scammed then turning around and scamming someone else to justify it..and this will spread like the flu. Once the bad apples get inside they ruin all the other good aplles too. *shakes head*

Though I do see where you're coming from:

If the perpetrator was trying to be "virtuous" (which I don't think he could have been being by scamming someone) then the gold should find itself donated to a cause, rather than lining his pockets.

Much more likely they are someone who always wanted to scam, but didn't know how to get away with it -- and now they found a way.

The message "it's okay to scam someone if you don't like them" sucks.

How am I at fault. I did not tell the 3rd party to go to Bucs. I did not tell Diablo to give money to the 3rd party. Well the fact that you were on the phone with "someone" indicates you and that "someone" are friends, so since that "someone" is your friend and obviously got this kid's gold, why dont you just tell your buddy "someone" to give you the gold and you give the kid the account as you promised and make this whole thing right?
