I didn't know that a Greater Cure potion had garlic in it until I tried to use it. Duh!!!

Typically, the poison will wear off quick due to vamp form. If you have to, use cleanse by fire.

Well, I pretty much died straight away. It took about 10 seconds, taking no damage from any other mob.

What is your poison resist at? How much damage are you doing with your weapon in a single hit? You should be able to survive with resist around 50 and damage being done at 35-40. These are minimums I'd say.

My poison resist is curently at 24. On average I'm doing about 45-55 damage, I can get as much as 72 damage with my Soul Seeker and Lightning Strike. My suit is not complete. I'm still missing:

Totem of the Void
Conjurer's Trinket
Ring of the Vile
Folded Steel Reading Glasses
Crimson Cincture
Jackal's Collar

If I understand you guys right, I should just stand my ground and continue to fight through the poison then?

get your nox resist up and SS/curse weapon often. should be fine.

That's your problem right there. You should have at least 60 poison resist minimum on a Sampire.

Sampires don't use SS or Curse Wep, especially in Doom where they would have Resist instead of Anat to lessen the effects of blood oath.

I think you pretty much did everything wrong there.

In addition to everything else already pointed out, you took a repond slayer weapon to kill an undead type, so it did double damage to you.

this is your main problem, fighting undead with a repond slayer = double fast death..

The important bit is, are you having fun while doing it?

If you're looking for something a little more challenging with the suit you have on, I would heartily suggest killing cyclopses and titans in Ilshenar (head east of the Honesty gate). The paragons are rather fun to kill, and your soul seeker is the perfect weapon for the job.

Killing demons is also a worthwhile way to spend your training/gold making time.

Eventually, you will want to find a fast scorpion slayer weapon with mana leech and stamina leech and killing miasma, or a similar reptile slayer for killing Thrasher. But those are thoughts for later (could be tomorrow, could be next week, could be in a year, depending on how well you learn the tactics and style of the sampire)

Absolutely Farsight. I'm having an awesome time with this character. It's one of the best characters I have ever had in any MMORPG. In a little over a week I've already GM'd swords and bushido is not far behind. Str is locked at 105. Dex is 68 on the way to 125. Finding the gear is a bit of a challenge. I'm actually building 2 of these guys. The other is with my son on his account. Spending massive amounts of gold and shopping my a$$ off lol. But yes I'm having a blast.

What I'm doing with miasma (when I'm looting and I'm still poisoned) is have a +chiv ring ready, wear it and cast cleanse by fire. Wasting some tithing points but it's working pretty well. Of course, this works only when and if you're not actually engaged (so you don't leech and you're not being interrupted).
