So?
You ended up talking to a GM then. Those not wanting to respond will end up talking to a GM instead of the player. Whats the problem there? lol
Not a problem for me.
I don't care who they say hi to.

Do you not see the clear and obvious difference between a GM and a nosy Nancy? If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's probably a duck?
Little story.
I am really sick with a bad cold, but, I am playing UO.
Casting EVS at swoop, back when people camped swoop.
Sick, so I would cast 2 evs then close my eyes until I thought it was about time to recast them.
I open my eyes at one point theres a dead guy standing beside me.
I say come over here, meaning off swoop hill, so I could rez him.
He says my name, then says: How are you? or something along those lines.
Instead of saying "OMG I'm so sick I should be in bed and NOT playing UO!"
I just said "sleepy" why?
Took me a couple seconds to realize it was a GM. I was not afk so no harm no foul.
The point of this story is that I must have appeared to be afk to the other players at swoop that day, and I understand that I was at fault for them thinking that.
I made myself look like a cheater.
That is what you do when you refuse to say Hi to someone who is testing you before they page on you for suspicious activities.
You make yourself look guilty.
This is a problem. There are those out there who have a difficult time typing, and spend their conversation time in vent/TS. If someone chooses not to converse with me, they shouldnt have to.So?

then you have a very poor tool for trying to determine the "cheater' face the facts your trying to hid behind the rules to justify your greifing! end of line."Wasting GM time harassing honest players..."
Sorry the way I tell if your 'honest' or not is to test you by saying 'hi' and expecting you to respond,
.
You are no one to be EXPECTING anything from anyone. You're not the UO police. You're not a GM. You don't work for EA. You're a player who's running around playing vigilante. A self righteous one at that. I don't know you from the crack ho standing on the corner, so expect all you want, you're going to be disappointed.Sorry the way I tell if your 'honest' or not is to test.........and expecting you to respond
So, because you don't get why someone would craft while hidden they're automatically a scripter huh? Wow. Way to jump to conclusions.such as those who tailor WHILE HIDDEN in safe areas, which makes no sense tbh and since I know that script programs ask if you'd like to have your char hidden while performing actions, then I will most likely simply page and the let the GM sort it out.
YOU don't have a way, only GM's do. That should tell you something all by itself. Too bad that kind of sense has never sunk in with you.I'd certainly be interested in learning how to tell if a player is 'honest' though.
I really have to say.. a FORUM MODERATOR saying something as offensive as someone should be set on fire in rl? Think about what you are saying.. really.people that stupid should be set on fire... irl.

IMO...it should be the game looking for cheaters...not the players policing other players. Often times when players do the policing you have a witch hunt occur. Not good.
I think a great deal of posters have missed that point.
After a while most any player figures out who the police are. You keep bugging me I'll hit ignore. I've got a set of 6 week old boys usually sitting in my lap, next to my computer, or in the bouncy seat. Trust me, my gametime is very limited and very precious to me right now. It is my only escape thank you. Yes that one skill point is something right now.
I really look bad because when I have a kid issue I recall out and log immediately. Issue resolved I come right back and get back to work.
You are affecting my gameplay everytime I do have to stop and explain. That's why I exercise the ignore option. Most anyone who does police wants to keep prodding to make sure you haven't just programmed a responce into a script. Sorry, it does tick me off to have to stop and type two letters. Usually it's followed by a bunch of holier than thou crap about scripting.

You are one of those who refuse to see the other point of view even when it looks you in the face. You spend your time thinking games are seriuz bidness while you own neighbor is burying the wife out back."...witch hunt..."
Let's not get hysterical here.
If I page on you because I suspect you are performing actions while unattended, and a GM comes to speak to you, and you ARE attended, then you suffer nothing but a little inconvenience.
And I see that you are still in-game hours AFTER I paged on you then I can safely assume that you were attended and ARE NOT a cheater and I will never page on you again for the same offense.
The whole point of asking you to respond to me with a simple 'hi' is to save EVERYONE involved the trouble of dealing with a GM.
Anyone who really cares about UO can not simply say:
I REFUSE to say HI to ANYONE.
It's a freaking ONLINE game people that other people besides you play.
Other people MIGHT say hi to you sometime.
Maybe if you can not handle the pressure of saying 'Hi' to another player in UO you might consider playing single player games.
Witch hunt my eye.
I think the easier question for her to answer would be "non-hypocrite much?". Too bad she doesn't understand why it is that vigilante-ism is against the law in every civilized country in the world. You are one of those who refuse to see the other point of view even when it looks you in the face. You spend your time thinking games are seriuz bidness while you own neighbor is burying the wife out back.
Seriously though, do you expect people to say hi to you every time in the real world? Perhaps its time you unburied your head from the sand.
Next time you page on a legally blind person, or a person disabled to the point they cannot easily type...think about how the GM will view the situation. I do not see any fairness here, only a self serving ignorant idiot thoughtless of the issues of others. I do not see why others should suffer because you do not feel good about others returning a hello...do you?
FYI...there are many people who play games like this to escape the disabilities they deal with in life...many people. Do you think they deserve to be inconvenienced in a game by the same people who inconvenience them IRL?
Hypocrite much?
When you get a GM Robe I'll bother with it. Otherwise I don't answer to anyone I don't choose to. UO allows for solo gameplay.I think a great deal of posters have missed that point.

You contradict yourself here:
"That's why I exercise the ignore option."
"Sorry, it does tick me off to have to stop and type two letters."
"You are affecting my gameplay everytime I do have to stop and explain."
So it BOTHERS you to have to type 2 letters to me BUT when your refusal to type 2 letters to me makes me think you are unattended so I page and then a GM comes it DOES NOT BOTHER you that:
Speaking to the GM is affecting your "gameplay everytime" you "have to stop and explain" to him that you are not afk.
You are going to have to stop what you are doing and say hi to one of us.
If you ARE attended then in the end YOU have cost EA some money by wasting a GMs time by refusing to say a simple "hi" to another player in an ONLINE game.
I guess I just don't understand why anyone would want to do either of those things.
