[NEWS]Xitara's Assault a Success!

The mysterious wisp, information broker of the Xorinite dimension, sent a large force from the Isles Verity into the depths of what was later identified as Fire. The caverns were lined with peculiar new inhabitants, spawned from the mysterious power of the Eye of the Oracle, familiar foes such as the Shadow Fiend of the Unseen, Balron, Minotaur, and peculiar giant gargoyles!

The wisp's force was met finally with a strange posse of glowing red foes, each appearing to hold some strange rank in the demonic caste system. Xitara had mentioned that dispatching these foes would goad the true enemy into combat, Loathric the Damnded! The beast stood as the Oracle had said, two men tall with teeth like spears, and so the battle began.

And lasted for some time. A very long some time. Three lifetimes, at least, probably more, due, in no small part, to the incompetence of some mages and tamer's animal companions, but eventually, the beast was defeated. Three items were recovered in varying amounts, Scrolls of Demonic Empowerment, Fragments of the Eye of the Oracle, and the Eye! Recovered by the noble Lady Ghost in exchange for the Oracle's complete divination and a rune of blessing. Truly a peculiar evening, but perhaps the most troubling, the Arcane Guardian is in some form of imprisonment, the realm awaits word from the Oracle and the Wisp on the matter.

Does anyone know what the Scrolls Of Demonic Empowerment do?

They do not *seem* to do anything. They are double clickable and DO bring up a targetting cursor but aside from that appear to have little use.

That was a tough fight, but fun. After we had him down to 1 hp, someone casted a summon and went to full hp again. LOL, that was a sight!
So we spammed not to cast EV's and summons. I gave up and just kept arch curing. Was sad to see so many fall to death.
That was fun, but not sure what these prizes were.
A title of some sort would've been a nice consolation prize.

Yeah, was def. fun. Afterward, Lady Ghost received a shattered eye and Salazon of UWF received 10 eye fragments. These items were taken to the Oracle in the Ilsh Sorcerer's Dungeon (lvl 2). The Oracle received the items and...not sure what happened after that.

I love how they call the mages & tamers incompetent when it would FULLY heal from even 1 summons. I could see calling them incompetent if it would SLOWLY life leech off the pets/summons. In my opinion the fact that it would regain full health from the pet/summons is not just the fault of the mages/tamers but also the ones responsible for creating the event. (I feel that if you're going to publish an article on it and knock on mages & tamers for something that made no sense whatsoever you should be willing to take some of the blame publicly as well)

That said it was a lot of fun even if I died a LOT. I'm curious to see when the next part of it happens and what the end result is. It'd also be nice if everyone involved got some sort of reward/title/whatever to show they were a part of it.

Well the Oracle would not take my 10 Eye Fragments. I still have 8 of them. Sure would like to know what happened because I am confused.

Very simple, the eye fragments were part of the loot as decorations. The oracle only wanted the actualy eye in and subsequently reward the talisman for turning in the eye. The only reason you got all 10 of them was because the EM didn't expect those items to stack so when they were dropped as loot they all dropped as once. This is a common mistake they make sometimes. For example, during the easter egg hunt event the GL EM dropped 24 eggs at once because they were stacked. I am interested in buying a couple of those eye fragments please icq me at 123172317.

I still don't understand the reward. Some got eye fragments and only one person got the actual eye? Then they turn in the actual Eye for a talisman? Please clue me in, I'm curious as to find out since I died so many times for nothing. Knowing the end would be nice.

I believe it was a multi rewards. There was only suppose to be one eye, the eye was cracked and the Wisp was after that eye. so it was turned in and in return the talisman of the oracle was awarded. Since the eye was cracked, it left many fragment pieces 10 total but the EM instead of dropping on random corps or monsters it got stacked and one person got all 10 pieces. The red scrolls comes in because it was controlling each of the red generals hence "demonic empowerment" red scrolls were found on each of the red generals.
