question about mage weapon and tactics

can i use weapon specs with 90 tactics/120 magery and a mage weapon? or do i have to have the accomodating weapon skill?

Nope you have to have the applicable weapon skill as well. PUB46 made it so. 70 Tactics for Primary, 90 Tactics for Secondary. There are only 3 exceptions:

1. Shadowstrike since you have to have 80 Stealth already.
2. Infectious strike since you need poisoning with that to be effective.

Are you seeing the trend? Last but not least:

3. Wrestling special moves, which...have the applicable wrestling skill attached to them.

what about bushido/ninjitsu and it's specs? do i need tactics for the spellbook moves?

and whats a skill point cost effective level to have it at for offensive strikes?

You still need tactics to perform specs that also require bushido or ninjitsu (talon strike, nerve strike, etc).

You can use bushido and ninjitsu special attacks without tactics though (focus attack, lightning strike, deathstrike, etc).

Not sure which you are referring to. Tactics at 90 is fine enough. Bushido to reap the full benefits you need it at 120. Ninjitsu not as important....somewhere between 110 and 120. Though 115 to 120 is more acceptable.

I too would still love the tactics mage if you could hold spells and prep specs, but since you cannot I do not!
