WOOPS Discarded.

I thinks it brilliant.
For the last week, I was like who is dropping all this crap? I found a 3-1 ring, fairy deed.

Robes everywhere. A bag of 50 bows. Runes. I was like who is stealthing around dropping stuff.

After reading the patch, I realized the dropped stuff in Trammel goes there.

HENCE Cavern of the Discarded.

I was laughing. I think thats is the cleverest addition to the game.

WHICH DEV THOUGHT OF THIS? Its brilliant. I want to buy you a pint.

Im slow, well actually quick to wit, but thats probably why I thinks its so great. I totally missed it.

TY

How about the REALM of DECAY where IDOC stuff goes?

What's the story with the three ratman clans down there? They don't seem to attack, but their associated animals do. On Pacific, we have some carpenters who are training like crazy it seems as all there is are oak bokutos, for the most part. I was interested to find a chest crafted by one of my friends, however. So here's a question. If you drop a container with items in it, will that container wind up down there including the items? What about tinker trap chests? Yikes!

"Hey, where did all these God-damn bokutos come from?"

"Hey where did that crossbow come from?"

"Hey that's a decent longsword....Not worth taking though."

It's a pity they didn't put it closer to the entrance, newer characters could find their way in there and equip themselves.

But it is a very, very clever, fun addition to the game. If for nothing else than to see garbage just randomly appear next to you.

Unfortunately, unless something is done to provide a stronger incentive to kill the named ratmen, people will just pull them off to a corner and leave them. When that happens, the spawn seems to eventually get stuck at it only respawning low level monsters. None of that low-level stuff drops anything worthwhile (except maybe reflective eyes on the wolves). A tamer might put a pet on one of the named ratmen just out of curiosity and to train a pet, but no one else will waste their time, ammunition, and gear durability on killing them.

It's pretty discouraging to make your way over there and find the spawn in that condition....all useless monsters and cleaning up the situation to get it back to a state where you can collect anything decent is going to take a good 20 minutes or more if you're doing it solo. I think the named ratmen need an overhaul to cut down on their hit points or make them worthwhile to kill.

I agree. And the need to walk back to the center.
Maybe we dont need three. All three have to progress then the rat guy comes.

1 king rat. Not 3

Or event 2 no no no not 3.

Well, I did get crystalline blackrock off a ratman clansman and several other resources which I have no idea what they are used for yet. Thus I wouldn't say it's a waste.

I'm kindof wondering about this "cavern" as well... I have noticed quite a few items that aren't "normal" drops.. Such as new puzzle box items (dough bowls, a totem pole, a statue pedistal, a bunch of dusty pillows) some non enhanced, non exceptional regular armor in various color hues..

Now could it be that there is not only a "dropped item magnet" here, but a random cool item spawn as well?

It's a good place to get resources, I agree. Unfortunately, it seems that if the renowned named ratmen have spawned and the mid-level stuff has all been killed off, the only thing that spawns is plague rats, clockwork scorpions, and wolves. The plague rats and clockwork scorpions don't seem to drop anything other than gold. The wolves drop eyes but that's all I've ever seen on them.

Have you been able to collect imbuing ingredients (other than the eyes) from the rats, scorpions and wolves? And if yes, were they dropping pretty consistently?

I agree with Tina. Also, if ratMAN are spawning then the spawn wasnt stuck. Stuck is when only little rats and wolves. It does stink.

Oh I see what you're saying. No, just eyes from them thus far.

I think if more people knew the named ratmen carried rares more would be killing them.

They drop abyssal Cloth and a lot of different imbuing ingredients. Yet, I agree the bosses need a loot improvement.
