I just solo'd Medusa :)

I just solo'd Medusa
I thought I read somewhere that it couldn't be done.
It took an hour and fifty minutes but I did it!
And I am NEVER going to do it solo again!

How about you guys? Have any of you solo'd her?
What template did you use?
I used a tamer with a greater dragon.
I guess I kinda cheated with the whole log off/on thing (Pet balls don't work down there)

But hey I just wanted to see if it was possible and it was.
Now I can move on with my life

Do you think she needs to be buffed?
If she healed herself or had faster health regeneration I wouldn't of been able to do it alone.
Or is it a good thing she can be solo'd as long as it takes 2 hours? Not everyone has friends.

I dont see a problem when it takes you 2 hours.

I killed her for the first time yesterday.. we where 5 mages and it took us aprox 30 mins. I was amazed how many HPs she had... I was also amazed how bad the loot was

I solo'd her 2 days ago on my sampire took me 50 mins to do it, was a pain at first but then once u get into it, its not that bad, apart from her turning u into stone its pretty simple.

Gorgon Lenses? Seems like it'd be faster if you used a necro in wraith spamming curse weapon and chaining specials... Slap Bushido on there to lightning strike your way back to full mana if you need it and I would say you have a fairly effective strategy... She really doesn't hit that often and other than the oddly buggy random shot of mass pwnage I keep seem to be catching she really isn't that bad... Fight her away from the the ankh and it would be simple to get yourself back into the fight.

Gorgon Lenses? Seems like it'd be faster if you used a necro in wraith spamming curse weapon and chaining specials... Slap Bushido on there to lightning strike your way back to full mana if you need it and I would say you have a fairly effective strategy... ya i pulled her away to the far left hand corner, mana wise i never had any issues with her once i was hitting crit hits for 120 + Mana and all my leechs kept me going.

Both Medusa and Slasher have been solo'd by non-tamer characters, and the Stygian Dragon has been done with 2 people, but they're now trying to solo it too. I don't imagine it will take them too much time to accomplish it.

UO is a sandbox. The only intention they have is that you have the freedom to do whatever you want.

And that's fine for you, but there are plenty of people that play at "off" hours, and find it nearly impossible to put a group together, much less one that will be around every day. You pretty much end up having to do things on your own if you want to do anything. Then there's the low population shards that doesn't matter what time of day or night it is.

Actually, you do not need to worry about that. There are "instances" to the new peerless (multiple rooms for different groups) so one group can go in immediately after another. I believe that there is a limit to the number or rooms, but I have not seen that limit reached on Atlantic.

Yeah be careful though... I had the pleasure of going into Medusa solo one night to get myst scrolls... well there was another group in there. I had 2 sets of statues one that had spawned before i got in there and one that was mine.... on top of that medusa was hellbent on killing me...

She was, from testing, considered to be the easiest and most solo-able of the new Peerlesses, which had once been called "Epic Encounters," then they appeared to drop the term.

That isn't to diminish your accomplishment, which is impressive by any measure....Just saying that you have accomplished a difficult task, but not one that was considered impossible.

I have aggressively mixed thoughts on being able to solo these critters.

And yes I freely admit that jealousy is one reason my feelings are so mixed; Galen's template is not well-suited to solo-ing any high-end monster, and I doubt I'm a good enough player to pull it off anyway. Jealousy is, however, far from the only reason I have mixed feelings. It's just a reason.

The gargon lenses are made by a tinker out of scales and the white crystals shards from the prism of light dungeon...takes a lot of these to make one set of gargon lenses and this is probably why we have not seen an abundance of them for sale. You don't see them, they are added to your headwear and the only difference is it adds the info for them so you can see how many charges are left. They are helpful and I would think if your goin it solo they would be a great help

ok, stupid question here...I have gone down to the medusa area, but not found medusa. I have gone across the bridge, but she was never there, or I have not been to the right spot. How to get to medusa once you work your way down to the bridge?

You need to double click those snake nests and get (I think) four eggs, and then place them on each pedestal around the altar in the southeast area, I think.

You have to collect keys to go inside. I hear snake charming is the best way to get the keys. I have not tried keying medusa yet.
