an SA cd?

is SA going to come out on a cd? or just a virtual download? I seem to recall reading somewhere that a cd was going to come out just not sure where.

Cuz I myself REALLy want a cd, cuz if i have to reput it on my pc the updates from the 9th ani take forever thats liek 3 years of patches pft

& Id really hate to buy the upgrade them pay same price to get teh cd but not need that code

Here are various quotes, from official EA/Stygian Abyss sites, that will answer your question. I don't recall anything different so I wouldn't read much inference into the later part of your post. IMHO of course.

Further, this from the Stygian Abyss FAQ's states...

"Will the expansion be digital distribution only?
Yes. At this time the expansion and the client will be through digital distribution only."

And finally, this from the official EA announcement of Stygian Abyss:

i know i read it some where that a cd was coming, but since i cant remember where or find it, maybe i miss read & it was a hoping a cd was coming comment

well that bites I really need a new upgraded cd since i have to reformat my pc soon owell

I am not following you completely.

I think you can just download the latest client build. If the SA content requires a patch it should automatically. I don't think there is any reason to run all the patches from whatever build you have currently.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your intent.

Why don't you just back up the current UO that you already have patched to a dvd? or even a USB drive of some kind. The game is what? 1.8gb with all the expansions and patches?

Just burn it to disk or throw it on a thumb drive...pop it back in and reload.

Oh someone already posted that...sorry! lol But you can toss it on your IPOD too if you have one of those instead. Or your cell phone. I transfer stuff all the time that way.

It's digital only. Download the client, burn to a DVD, there you go, updated CD. =D

Yup It worked.

I patched up to the latest, then moved the "Ultima Online Stygian Abyss" folder from the C: to the E: drive (external 250gb USB drive). Deleted all references and files to UO from the C: drive.

Long story short, I am playing UO off the external USB drive and not the local C: drive. No performance hits or anything (SA client). The same can be done with GuildWars and World of Warcraft.

I have not tried UOA yet, but im assuming that would also work.
