I'm sure there may be dissenters in the ranks, and that's okay... I just want to give my personal thanks to Mythic for this expansion. Stygian Abyss has truly gotten me interested in roaming around UO again in a way that hasn't happened since... well... probably the introduction of Ilshenar.
Doom had its moments, but grew tired quickly, and Malas itself is just a trailer park, so UO:AoS didn't hold a lot of exploration opportunity. Tokuno... it just feels half baked, which left UO:SE out in the cold. And while I loved that UO:ML brought me my elf, the content otherwise was a bit shoddy (Peerless are fun, but from a crafting perspective, I still don't understand why I can't just turn my statue to face a different direction rather than needing a recipe to make one east and one south -- I must be really dumb as a crafter), so UO:ML... not so exciting overall.
But... UO:SA has really gotten me interested. The puzzles, while perhaps annoying to some, have been a source of enjoyment. The new systems in place have added some depth to the game -- okay, I still have to work on my imbuer, and I'm not sure why mysticism needs tactics, a weapon skill, imbuing, and evaluate intelligence to get full benefit, but the choices on spell use lately have befuddled me anyway.
The Abyss, the Underworld... all of them have pieces of fictional flavor to them that don't make them feel incomplete. You took time to put some tomes in places to add to that feel (the Abyss is a little light, but given other stuff going on around, it's compensated for).
I just hope you continue this trend of adding a good variety of things into the game, AND keep marching forward on the RP/fiction portion of the game too.
At any rate, I've found myself playing so much, I feel like it's ten years ago. So thanks!
