Honestly, I don't think there is any point in posting these anymore since it looks {to me} like they are not doing any attempts to fix it.

I believe everyone here that it could be a router issue, but I also think it could be a Corporate problem too.

Does anyone know if there has been a spike in subs to WAR. Just wondering if EA took some resources from UO and pushed it to WAR or any other game to help out.

If this is the case they would have to buy more bandwidth from their ISP. If anyone remembers the stories from WOW. They spent a TON of cash to get more bandwidth mid month bc they didnt have anywhere to pull it from.

I found this thread on an EA forum for FIFA09. Its some of the same sad customer service we've seen consistently, but its kinda funny at the same time.

Poor guy can't complete an FIFA game because he keeps losing connection. So he has a 95% DNF (did not finish) rate. He goes through all kinds of hell trying to resolve the issue based on guesses by customer support staff. Eventually they get him to download UOTRACE!!! Then they proceed to instruct him on entering his shard to do a trace. Perhaps he was trying to play bagball?!?!?

His issues started in late October and he's going through one of the good ole Ferts too.

I have been doing the ea tech support thing for 3 weeks, i update the answer, they respond asking for xx information 3 days later, over and over and over. for the past 3 weeks. Im so fricken frusterated with this, i pmed chrissay seeing if she had a voice at all, but no word back :cursing: I have pointed out the problem, much like the OP did, and they still ask my for my dxdiag report, my internet speed test, etc etc etc. IM POINTING TO THE PROBLEM, WHY EVERY 3 DAYS DO YOU ASK ME FOR SOME USELESS INFORMATION, STOP DELAYING AND FIX IT! I'm the only one that's allowed to delay my users in the IT world lol. But i work for them, and i pay ea...

LoL sorry about that but when I saw that post I got mad! I had no idea it would start up the "posting" process again. I guess it was a good thing that I saw it...thanks for being mean Lynk! :twak: Oh and btw, my knowing more then you probably isn't saying much!

K now I am having issues with dropping my conn to UO. Anyone else having this issue? It drops every 20 min or so. I am still online so it isn't my ISP. Hrmmmm

How frustrating! Don't you wish you could magically get past the level 1?! (either on the phone or through email) Like a direct line to their network guys??? How cool would that be? I think they have them hidden in a dungeon somewhere!

I personally sometimes think the outsource to the people from the caveman geico commercials, but thats just my $0.02

That sucks I remember when this took place it was horrible. I feel for you guys that it is hitting now... Maybe they will fix it soon. Main thing is to keep posting about it... thats what we did and something finally got done.

LoL You probably hit the nail on the head! Trust me, I have called them before and I had to tell the guy to sllllooooooooowwww down. Couldn't understand a word he said! Finally I got frustrated and hung up on him, called back and chose a different area and got the same guy. I did this several times till I threw my hands up and gave up completely.

The tech forum has a link to the UO Trace Route program in the thread about lag. All you have to do is enter the server (ie Sonoma.owo.com), and in the simple mode it will come back with a connection rating (ie excellent, average, below average, poor). If your connection rating is below average you can run a detailed trace and it will come back with a report showing the hops, ping, and packet loss with an option to copy to clipboard or email report to UO (where it probably goes straight to the trash bin). For about the last week, I've been running with an excellent connection rating for a couple hours and then it goes to poor with 25-60+ packet loss on the last 2-3 hops (every time its 1 or 2 ea.com hops and central-aw4.owo.com as the last one).

That connection rating is based on packet loss, we are talking about high ping times to a particular route in the trace route. Two separate problems.

I've been hearing more gossip lately of some backbone carriers in US starting to throttle network connections to high-traffic companies.
