EA Store Issues

I sat on the phone over an hour Tuesday with EA, trying to see if I could get my upgrade code. And I have been waiting since Tuesday only to get an interesting reply from the EA support folks. They tell me I am not allowed to buy multiple copies of their game (and they won't give me an upgrade code). And then they tell me I should have ordered the copies through uogamecodes.com (which we were told wouldn't be good at dealing with multiple copies on these very boards).

Needless to say, my frustration level is at it's maximum level at this point.

I managed to get one for each of my two accounts by using both.. one order from EA store and one from uogamecodes.

I managed to get through to EA on the phone and actually got someone who seemed to care (kudos there!) and he told me if you want to use the EA store all you have to do is use a seperate email account per order and they'll go through. He said their system is set up to keep track of orders via email. So, create some dummy hotmail accounts and try was his suggestion...

Sorry, but if people are waiting for a response from the EA Store and this is what they get after 2 days, the other folks waiting need to be ready for a similar response.

BTW, if telling people what happened and a natural response to what I received is rude, so be it.

Not to say that the support folks don't know what they are talking about...but I went to UOGamecode instead and was able to get multiple codes in a single purchase.


Though UOGamecode doesn't seem to like certain browsers. I had problems using IE to even enter my UO Account/PW on UOGamecode. It kept bouncing me back to the same page to type in my ac/pw. No errors.

After several attempts, I intentionally typed in a wrong ID/PW just to troubleshoot and the page was able to tell me that there an account/pw mismatch.

Haven't bought anything from UOGamecode since ML and I have since changed PCs, that means I should not have any issues with cookies/cache but I cleared them anyway, still no dice.

Switched to firefox and not only did I not have any issues with verifying my account/pw, I was able to increase the quantity without issues and send the order through. Got my upgrade and gift codes and upgraded 2 of my accounts.

I realize you must have pretty thick skin to be a "Community Coordinator"... I would likely cry if you talked to me like that.

Well, I normally am much more tactful about my opinions and frustration at this kind of thing. But I was pretty ticked off when I sat on the phone for over and hour to be told we will respond within 48-72 hours and then to get this. I will tacfully re-write this to not be quite so harsh.

I am also VERY upset because I was told to go to EA Store to buy multiple copies and NOT to use UOGamecodes. I listened (how stupid was that) and EA store has charged me for two copies of the game while REFUSING to give me a code for my second copy which I have an order number AND receipt for.

I'm going to be calling them in a few minutes but my question is this.....

Why even tell us we HAD to use EA store if it would not work!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!? Waiting days to get my 2 accounts into Stygian Abyss is RIDICULOUS!

Lucky you, EA support in Russia don't even know what is Ultima Online at all. (even half a day the phone wasn't working at all)
50+ hours passed and i still haven't received purchased sa upgrade code.

Well I know support in many EU countries is limited if non existant for this. I have been reading all the problems and situations with codes and this and that and its amazing to me that EA being a muti million dollar console gaming company cant manage to get this right.
Having said that EA is a console gaming company and I think they fail miserably when it comes to mmo's. EA Sweden has the game listed for 29,99sek and does not give the exchange rate discount but EA UK does. It lists for 19.99 £ which makes it about the same as if you buy it from the UOGameCodes after the exchange rate.
I bought 2 copies from UOgamecodes. I waited about 15 mins or so after it was up and using FireFox, it went right though. I got my game codes and promo codes, so I guess I am one of the lucky ones.
I just dont understand why they make so many mistakes. How hard can it be?

I am tempted to use uogamecodes now that I am using Firefox but I am just soooo uncomfortable putting my uo account AND password on that page. So I am trying the hard way with EA Store

Quick update....all of my accounts are now up and running!!

The guy I spoke to at EA was very kind and apologetic while telling me that this was an "unforeseen problem".

Maybe they don't know how the game actually works?.........Anyways, it's all fixed for me.

Next time I"ll use UOGamecodes tho!
