So just to confirm.

I pm'ed a dev, they replied and no and are looking into, thats as much as she said.

So, lets assume it wont take too long now........

And that just ticks me the hell off. Not with you, but with you having to PM a Dev to find out what's going on!

EDIT - Seen the 2 hours bit.

So its going to take 2 hours before we get even an update. Do you realise its already been nearly 6 hours of no playtime.

Also consider what this looks like to new players on Europa. What a delightful introduction by EA to Ultima. After all the fanfare they log in and crash - wait - in and crash - wait - in and crash.

Many will really be new and what they might think after an intro like this would be interesting to know.

Will they be thinking what wonderful value they got for their money?.

It is called "New player experience"

Perhaps I could draw your attention to my earlier comments regarding customer service, and comments in the other thread with regard to tech support running in line with the time zones UO is played in? Because, truly, it's ridiculous that you run a multi national, multi time zone game and do not, at the very least, provide tech support within those time zones. And that does not mean I want to spend a fortune calling the USA when there's a tech issue with Europa. It means we need some form of tech support with a real person on the other end who can actually manage to come up with a coherent, logical reply to issues like the one we've experienced today. And do it in a timely fashion as well.

Sounds like a new dupe has been found so they took the shard down to stop the dupers from x-fering the loot to other shards. Now they just have to find, reproduce and delete the offending dupe now.
Would also explain why the shard was up and down like a yo-yo.

Sensible really to take the shard down rather than do a revert later, i know peeps would be complaining a hell of alot more if they just lost the last 6 hours training rather than just the time

No, no, it's not a good sign. I crashed Drachenfels. Anyone could crash any shard. A server patch is necessary and urgent.
