A scam is a scam either way. If i would have been standing at the bank and someone comes up and kills me that's not a scam but if i make a icq/post to do a trade and then you kill me for the item it's a scam. I'm making sure everyone who deals with him is cautious because i was not given warning about him and his ways or i would have never even traded with him. I could honestly care-less what people call me, they'll just go on ignore with the other 5 people.Duke, I like you and have kept my mouth shut on the matter...
but you got "scammed" legally. He took advantage of the situation. I think many people, if they saw someone with an unblessed item and wanted it, they would kill that person. I don't condone how it was done(with the idea of a trade being done for that item) but you can blame your loss on one of many things:
-Lack of game mechanics
-Lack of PvP skill
That is it. You don't need to yell "SCAMMER" at every thread, lest you want to become the new GoodGuy.
Hey this is total bs what im hearing from some of you...wtf is legal or illegal got to do with deception? What puffy done to get the 20 mil valued (at that time) inquis gloves wasn't illegal either but it was still deception and it still makes him a piece of dog ****. Just plz don't try to make right and wrong about what ultima online considers legal and illegal cause that crap won't fly here. The kid made his own bed now it's time to man up and lay in it and live with the "buyer beware" tag. It's ok he's a big boy, he will be alright.Really, it is not illegal to try to trick someone. You could had used a vendor for the trade.
If Cheapsuit pops out and kill someone who just bought a item off of Molly's vendor then no it's not a scam, but if Molly herself pops out and kill the customer then yes it is a scam, setup or whatever you want to call it.Duke - Consider the following scenario
You buy some expensive items off a vendor, the vendor owner pops out, kills you, loots the item and puts them back on the vendor for sale.
Scam or not?
It's not RL, it's a game where we do have thieves, murderes and other evil chars. I'm not saying, what they did is ok but you can do alot to protect yourself against it.Hey this is total bs what im hearing from some of you...wtf is legal or illegal got to do with deception? No the items weren't real life items they were virtual items but the betrayal that he and "puff daddy" uses is as real as it gets. Yes the theft took place inside a video game but they did not use the stealing skill, they used the real life human betrayal skill to deceive their victims using a virtual world to do so for their own protection. Make no mistake, these are real life scum bags and not just virtual ones. It's not RL, it's a game where we do have thieves, murderes and other evil chars. I do see a "buyer beware" sign over the head of every seller I don't know I can trust, better be safe than sorry.
Also if someone try to stand to close at me at bank, I will move a little and check if he do have evil karma, he could be a thief.
If someone want to trade with me in an unsecure way, I will consider the risk before I accept or refuse.
There are risk everywhere on Siege, I think I would hide before buying it and then use my Siege Bless on it before I move on.If Cheapsuit pops out and kill someone who just bought a item off of Molly's vendor then no it's not a scam, but if Molly herself pops out and kill the customer then yes it is a scam, setup or whatever you want to call it.
Yes I will drop it, my post was made before I seen your post...my apologies. If Molly popped out and killed the customer it would be nothing short of a miracle, she going to bash him with her sewing kit?
This is a subject that keeps getting perilously close to breaking RoC, can we drop it please?
Name Change Tokens without scams
Evil Roleplay is allowed too, it is not limit to the stealing skill. No the items weren't real life items they were virtual items but the betrayal that he and "puff daddy" uses is as real as it gets in life. Sorry...that wasn't evil roleplay Freja. It was him just taking advantage of a nonspoken rule about trading.Evil Roleplay is allowed too, it is not limit to the stealing skill. No the items weren't real life items they were virtual items but the betrayal that he and "puff daddy" uses is as real as it gets in life. Edit:
Ok Molly, I will stop too
I agree here. If I have to be scared of trading every time I trade, I make less trades, or only trade with people I already trust. If everyone did this, the economy here would go down the tubes even more -- if that's even possible!Sorry...that wasn't evil roleplay Freja. It was him just taking advantage of a nonspoken rule about trading.
Also true of course.I agree though...everyone is well aware of Duracel/Vas's past behaviors so perhaps it would be best to not continue to post about it each and every thread![]()
I did not say this case was evil RPSorry...that wasn't evil roleplay Freja. It was him just taking advantage of a nonspoken rule about trading.
