All of this information will be covered in the announcement. But, the alternative payment method for North America is the EA cash card for the EA Store. http://www.eacashcard.com.
They can be purchased at:
* Walmart
* Safeway
* Toys R us
* 7 Eleven
I believe pay by cash will be an option but as I said earlier all of the details will be available in the announcement."
The above post is an example in support of the question I am posing. I was trying to get one of those cards only to be informed they are not available in Canada. (last I check both Mexico and Canada were in North America) I really enjoy UO and I was looking forward to the expansion. However, my wife and I are both wondering why EA Mythic seems to be trying to discourage people from getting it. Not having a non credit card method is discouraging, not having a discount option is discouraging and now I have read in another thread that I was to spend 39.00 for the tokens and pets it is limited to one per customer? It would appear that from a business perspective EA Mythic wants the expansion to fail.
One other point was the 30 days game time for the 39.00 option is only for new accounts. This was not how I read it or a lot of other players, this means if I upgrade I will be paying more in total than if I was to start a new account. I will end up paying about 43 dollars per account. Meaning I will have to seriously re think getting the expansion.
Can anyone at EA Mythic shed some light on why they seem to being this. It makes no sense to actively discourage your current customers from getting an expansion.
