Yeah, it's the same one. Only ever had one in the stable and trained it. I have gone out with one of my cu's before thinking it was my best one only to not be able to figure out why it wasn't doing very well and finally notice it was a newly bonded untrained one.
I took it out and tested it against an ogre lord, arctic ogre lord, and a blood elemental. The other pet I tested it against was my regular dragon (3 slot). Reptalon still tanks the blood eles better, but they killed it in about the same amount of time. Both ogre lord types would have killed the reptalon if I hadnt started vetting when it got low. Dragon didn't have any issue killing them before it reached half health. I'll go see what happens with my mare later tonight.
Gack, sorry, meant to ammend this this morning.
It must have been a fluke. Versus Ogre Lord the Reptalon was doing 75..120 Damage (according the red numbers) was knocking off the Ogre Lords with at most 20% damage off their health with no veting or healing. Or in short, on average, I was required to do a few heals, on average about every 3 Ogre Lords. Some of the Ogre Lords would do the 20% damage and I would heal it off when the fight was done. I took it to the Cyclops in Despise and let it play with them and basically healed it like 2 times in maybe 4 complete circuits. I went to the Mines and played with the Yamoto(?) Worriors in there and he was quite ok in there. I needed to toss a few heals his way when they double teamed him, otherwise he was doing ok.
Last night all was back to normal and the Reptalon required the normal amount of Healing. Max Damage I was seeing was in the 50 ... 70 range.
As I have no history on what the Reptalons were, I will throw this out in case it makes any sense to anyone.
Saturday night, when I was seeing the fluke, I noticed some things. I use the Enhanced Client with the SA_Enhanced Custom UI. On the Pet and Mob gumps it gives you life as a percentage.
Now then mostly and perhaps always (as in most were way to close to make that statement with authority), I was noticing that the when the Mob being attacked was a distance away, it's health would go down, maybe 5% to 10% while the Reptalon was walking on over to do its thing. I have todate just attributed this to a lag in the visual representation of the two objects vs the server side positioning, as I believe the Reptalon does not have a range attack.
