Strategy for Shadow Lords, and targeting?

First off, I've tried all the options for "last target" and "attack last" (2D) trying to find a way to target a Shadowlord under the weight of all the players there. I can't seem to find anything that works effectively without having to cycle through the mass of players. How can I do this?

And what special powers do they have, or did those Etherial versions have, that we might have to consider?

Area spell. If you're a tamer, all guard me + area spell. You should start auto-attacking thereafter.

Can you target a player with an area spell like Meteor Swarm in Trammel? Or use Mass Curse?

Nope. You can't even target your guildies in tram with area spells. Not sure if you can while in factions, but don't think so. You're safe casting area spells in tram ruleset.

Actually, you can "TARGET" them in Trammel - but it doesn't affect them, but does hit an area effect around them. Essentially, they become targeting beacons for you in Trammel. You ley you dexxer friend drap a crowd, then pop his bar a couple times with meteor swarm or chain lightning to hit everything he's fighting, but not him.

So, any special things to note? I read something about ranged attacks healing the etherial forms? Or was that something else? Or was I all wrong about that?

What we'll face this weekend is not the ethereal forms or manifestations of the Shadowlords.

We'll be facing the real thing.

It may or may not bear any resemblance to what we've fought so far. All bets are off. We should mind the past but not be bound by it.

One nightmare scenario: They use the Chief P code, wherein pets and summons heal it to full health.

As to targeting, I'd say the general rules for targeting in big fights applies. Area effects; object handles; just dumb luck; etc.

I think leaving the dragons at home might be a good idea since we kicked so much shadowazz with them so far.

While I may regret being unable to target the SLs, right now I'd have to say I support....Whatever works.

I do not want to find out what the consequences of failure might be.

It the team had an event with a new boss, and did not warn that it would

A. unbond a pet
B. eat it and destroy it bonded or not

Your going to have a massive amount of mad players.

That's already happened by accident - at least one event had a mob that had crimson dragon stats, including the ability to unbond dragons attacking it (all in all, people took it well).

Blaaah... Gotta start soulstoning the right skills again then I quess....

Edit: Why I say Blaaah is that I find that kinda unfair way to hand out the prices. Yes, best get the best prices makes sense. But in this case it's us who know how to make templates that can deal huge amounts of damage in short time stealing all the prices leaving nothing for "normal players" who don't have house full of soulstones from which to build the perfect temp just for this event.

Yeah, this is good for players like me, we get a lot from these. But I'd find it better that everyone had an equal chance. I feel bit bad for getting into top 3 damagers everytime, but I would feel stupid to come with temp that doesn't get there.

No, I was trying to find a way using the old system. I didn't even check this out with the expansion stuff. I hope they have something that works, including for the enhanced 2D.

One thing goes without saying but I'll say it anyway: Since this is Draconi, expect fire.

Also be aware that the Shadowlord General that appeared at Luna on the GL shard had a lag attack. (No, it wasn't intended to be a lag attack as near as I can figure.)
