It's damage is based on distance from target. Closer == more damage. Bad for a bow.

Because of harms distance penalty. The closer you are to the target the more damage it does. Any more than a step away and you might get 2-3 dmg off the hitspell. Only thing that would have made it worse is if it was hit dispel.

It's fodder for imbuing. Over 400% intensity(I think) should get a nice ingredient or two.

Honestly... reading the replies in this thread on why you all are sad about this bow... I'm sitting here scratching my head.

Not many would PvP with a shortbow to begin with and if you did... it would really only be useful against mages (and the harm isn't a huge downside as the speed and the delayed hit spell... will cause may disrupts... the whole point of using the bow in the first place)

So to summarize... I thought you all were sad that this bow had hit spell on it because this would of been one hell of a Lady Mel bow without it... HLA instead would of made the perfect bow.

for those of you clueless... hit spell on your bow gives the chance that lady mel will target your wammy archer... something you don't want. But honestly... you CAN do Mel with this bow... just be extra careful.

I was sad because it was a waste of a 80% intensity mod that could have went toward hla, hci, hml, or even if it was a hitspell at least something that was gonna cause noticable dmg like lightning. BTW, they make shampoos for your head scratching problem.

Harm hits before the wep hits. It is instant. SSI 40 means it has already been enhanced so no embuing. And yes harm sucks on a bow since it goes off distance. It is still a good bow and we have all seen near perfect weps with one USELESS mod before, at least hit harm is not USELESS just not perfect.

The only thing the bow is good for is Lady Mel... its a PvM bow, period.

HCI is pointless thanks to lightning strike. HLM is pointless thanks to spirit speak and wraith form. HLA would be awesome as its one of the only mods worth anything... and hit dispell? With the number of revs that she casts... would of been more useful than your hit lightning wish. Now considering you originally mentioned hit lightning instead of something like... balanced: you obviously had PvP in mind making this conversation funny time.
