Mana Leech working for Swords?

I have noticed this for the past couple of days. I have a pally swordsman that i use a lot to do spawns. I use a soul seeker and use whirlwind a lot. Used to be i could keep up with mana using whirlwind in mobs. Now mana leech doesn't seem to be working at all. The other leeches still work fine it is only the mana leech that doesn't seem to be working.
I tried a katana with a 40% mana leech being the only mod on a few dragons and the spell never went off once. Would use up all mana then attack dragon just swinging the sword without the mana leech kicking in at all. Anyone else noticed this?

You must have missed the publish a year or two ago where they changed the way mana/life/stamina leech works.

Instead of Mana Leech 30% 'going off' 30% of the time - it goes off every time and it leeches 30% of the total mana possible to be leeched which is like 40% of the targets total or whatever.

The mana leech property(and others) are balanced for speed so if you have an insanely fast weapon like the soul seeker - it leeches but not very much.

You don't hear the sound b/c it was annoying going off with every swing when they first implemented it.

Also the leeching is 50% of melee leeching for bows.

No your soul seeker isn't as godly as it used to be, but its still pretty good.

Yea it works fine.

Just keep in mind that some spawns have no mana to be leeched... Like memphis spawn lvl 1 and 2 cannot be leeched. Rikky spawn lvl 2 can't be leeched. This is because these mobs have no mana.

I thought weapon mana leech converted the damage done into mana for the attacker. Hmm, you never quit learning with this game.

No, you're correct. Other guy is thinking of Mana Steal, aka Wraith Form.

I found a 60% mana leech and the mana leech did indeed become noticeable. So question answered. Thanks for the reply's all. :D

Actually with Hit Mana Leech, you do gain mana with each hit, however you leech UP TO the % of the damage done with each hit.

For example, if you have Hit Mana Leech 50% and you do 60 points of damage, you can leech from 1 to 30 points into your mana pool.

It is possible to be on a really bad RND streak and only leech 1 point of mana each time. Actually if you leech 5 or less, you might not even notice it.
