What good is focus?

Hi guys, I'm leveling a samurai right now (I haven't played in 9 years, so much has changed...) and I have 100 focus.

I can't seem to find any template with focus, how does everyone gets mana back?
Mana leech weapons? Necromancy (though i'd hate going the necro route for RP reasons, I'd like a pure samurai better)? Mana regen items?

I would like to drop focus for chivalry, but won't I experience dire mana problems?

My archer replenished his mana via meditation.

My samurai are all slaves to mana leeching weaponry to keep in the mana.

My non-necromancy samurai template is swords/tactics/bushido/parry/chivalry/healing/anatomy (all to varying levels, coming to about 720 points).

My main PvM weapon is an executioner's axe with swing speed increase and mana leech (and HLD) or a bokuto with HLD/HLA and mana leech.

For PvP go for meditation if possible.

For PvM go for Mana Leech on Weapons and/or Wraith Form...

All right, mana leech on weapons is fine, but what about crafted weapons?
I'm used to using all crafted gear, especially since weapons wear off so fast, so mana leech is out of the equation, isn't it?

You can craft weapons with stam leech, mana leech life leech and damage increase. You just need a gold or higher runic hammer. You get the runic hammers by doing bulk order deeds in smithy shops. Good luck

you mentioned uve been away for 9 years, are you aware of powder of fortification? with this you can keep a weapon your comfortable with in action indefinetly? whenever its durability gets too low ( or even slightly) you can recharge it to its maximum potential, and the best weapons (save a few exceptions) come from player crafted products these days.

if you want to swap focus for chiv then you also need to know that unless ure after consistent holy light the most you will currently really need in chiv is 70 or so, when u consider that from focus you only get 4 or so mr from 80 chiv your not going to be seriously loosing a huge mana regen ability if you can get hold of the right armour/weapon.

I am not sure what server the OP is on, but you can find some reasonable hammers for a cheap price...depending on what skill level your smith is?

Copper hammers you can produce some okay weapons that will give you what you need to start with.

My wife is leveling the smith this time (reaching GM smith in 1998 left a bad taste in my mouth ) and she'll be GM this week.

She doesn't complete much bulk orders yet, if any, so we'll have to see whether we can get some runic hammers easily or not.

I made my sampire axe with bronze hammers... I believe it took 4 total to get HML and SSI. I wanted HLL, but after 4 hammers, I figured that I got as good as possible.

You're forgetting they must have SL. An ornate isn't going to work too well for you without it.

Yes I think it was bronze now that you mention it. I always get the 2 mixed up. And yes...you should like to receive HSL. HLL is not what it used to be. Aside from the fact there are many ways to get back life on a bushido template.
