Missing Lockpicking Training Boxes

Hello! It seems that someone has taken the lockpicking training boxes that were in the Port of Umbra. The chest they were in was at one time set to "locked down", available to anyone. Now the chest is set to "locked down and secure", set to anyone. I don't know how or when this happened. I don't remember changing the set, but...... I have been known to do silly things like that. I don't want to accuse/assume it was some kind of hack. I just want to know what happened the to boxes and get them back if possible.

If anyone has any information about the boxes, please contact me. Cat Crimson worked hard to make those chests, and I would like to see them returned so anyone in need can use them.

I noticed the box was set to secure instead of locked down last week sometime. *evil grin* I thought it was intended, as an honor system type training facility. I didn't take the boxes. ( or anything else, though a few more boxes were set that way too. )

Thank you for info. The box next to it is intentionally set to "secure" and "anyone" because it is a donation box. The academic bookcases are secured, but set to co-owner. *sighs* They will be difficult to replace since they can only be made if someone works up tinkering while they do it.

Best thing to do is take a barrel from the gypsys when they spawn with one, you can break lockpicks on it all the way up to about 74 skill ( when it will finally pop open and become useless ), while carrying it with you.

Once ROT, gains really aren't a problem from pretty much any dungeon chest.

About a month ago I was asking about locked boxes and you and a few others offered to let me use your boxes but while i was at your house trying to figure out how to get your hammer I did notice your boxes were lootable and thought to myself "she is way too trustworthy" and wondered why you didnt have them locked down. Had i know you wasn't aware of this I would have told you.

Whomever makes her some new ones can you make me some too? I will pay.

I *think* I know what happened. I know that when I first put the boxes in, the chest was locked down. Along with the lockpicking chests were a few lockpicks. They were useless just being locked down in there, so a while ago... it had be months ago.... I unlocked the chest to take the picks out and I probably hit my macro for "I wish to secure this" and ignored the security gump that came up.

The only person who can make the training boxes is someone without tinkering. Then they make the boxes at different tinker skill- 25, 50, 70 I think is what I had.

Maybe it was the same person/s that took all the waterbarrels in front of my house and my neighbors' home too, over the weekend. My own waterbarrels, once belonged to Aeric for his our MYTH guild jousting arena. I had kinda hoped to recreate that water barrel jousting arena of his on Siege, again one day.

Ah well, maybe said person is.. some sort of some water barrel/ lockpick box, thief ?

Maybe NEW has some tinkers in training ?

I don't think Lorddog moved the lockpick training set in front of the Zento CC. For anyone desperate for training while Patty is tracking down replacements, you can always try those.

Are these the right skills for making them Patty? How many of each? I have a couple of spare soulstones, I could put the right tinker skill levels on those. Since every now and then someone needs a set, it might be good to be able to make them.

@Quira- I am fairly sure I had boxes at 25, 50, and 70.... but I thought I had a 4th set of boxes.... maybe at 90?

That might be the difficult set Takes some time to get to that skill level. Would GM boxes be of any use?

GM tinkered boxes are only good for higher-level lock picking.....like 90+. That's why it sucks to have lost the set. You have to make the boxes as you train tinker.

For future reference - If you ignore the security setting promt, when you first secure a chest, it will default to "Owner Only". If you go to change the security setting on a box and just close the selection, it will stay the previous setting.

It doesn't seem to be all that hard to replace being that you can go from 0-70 tinkering in one day.

Honestly, I have no idea who took them. I would just like them back and I thought maybe the I could motivate the culprit with a monetary reward.

If people would just put their thinking caps on it's really not hard to figure out who's doing all the house lootings this past month cuz the culprit as you put it is throwing clues left and right and he always return to the scene of the crime.

Hummm, so now it sounds like you have an idea who did it! The only house looting I can think of right now (it's morning and not enough caffeine) is the looting of the NEW house and that was Mr. StinkyPants/ Gen. Ruiner. Is that who you are suggesting?

I do not want to come right out and accuse anyone. I take responsibility for changing the settings on the chest. I am not angry about it.... just like I do not get angry when I get killed AFK in my house. Now I just wish the person who took them would be responsible and fess up, even if it is to say, "Yea it was me, you're not getting them back, so F off!".

I have to go back to work today. I am not ready for summer to be over.

Unfortunately Patty we'll always have the odd one who will take whatever they can lay their grubby paws on whether they need it or not, they just like to make things awkward for others, selfish buggers. I'll try to get another set made for you, we have Elizabeth who's training craft skills although I'm not sure what her tink level is...I'll ask her later today when she gets on.

In the meantime anyone who wants to train lockpicking is welcome to use the boxes we keep at NEW, they start from 35 or so skill up to gm, so you'll need to get some gains on crates and barrels in provisioner shops to 25, then chests at inns to 35.

The only conditions are that you don't attack anyone you see in the house while you're at it, and are not known to be an attacker of the NEW people.

i dont have ur pick boxes i have had gm picking since i started on this place but i dont care if u all think its me dosnt change anything

and for the record i was wrongfully accused of that stuff my crappy ex friend i brought from pac did the looting she packed a beetle if u dont remember and! she said it was all me too but i do admit i took every motar and pistol but shal said take any thing u need (which i used every one) and shortly after when rikki got caught we where both blamed and kicked out of new and then i kicked her out of my house cause she tried to throw this damm thing on me she left the shard went back to prodo as for i stuck it out on siege cause im innocent, hated or not im still here haveing the best uo times of my life! and also since then ive given so much to the new guild not in the box but i stop by and just drop crap off in front of the keep, brought countless members to new, ive done my part, and either way i didnt take ur boxes patty! i have no use for em. so ya there ya go, believe what u want it wont change a thing im still here and will continue to be here for a long long time hated or loved

ooooa and another thing i only loot the crybabys of new (give them something to cry about) the tuff guys i usally give them a some nice weapons or armor, money, what ever they are as long as they dont cry to much i help them out so be sure to tell all the lil newbers to stick it out and not to cry otherwise they will be ganked like everyone else
