A castle is a castle. A keep is a keep. It's their design, their build.
Why don't you guys ask for what you really want, a 30x30 customizable plot.
And let castles be castles.
Anyone with a castle should be pushing for recall into courtyards again...and the ability to deco a courtyard. But not customize it, if they wanted to do that, I'd prefer em to just make ya a bigger custom plot, maybe with the same lockdowns as a castle

A compromise for castles and keeps is to keep the floor plan the same, but allow the tiles and walls to be customized in style/color only. Sandstone castle? Why not. Perhaps add the ability to to put in doors. I imagine living in those it can get a bit drafty.

As far as Uriah Heep's message.. obviously he never read much history or visited any of the many many castles in Europe - most look very different and unique to their own time period and local building materials and terrain. The argument, "A castle is a castle. A keep is a keep. It's their design, their build." is just pure nonsense.
Myself, I would give up my keep for a smaller home with the same storage. For me, it's about the storage, but it would be nice to be unique.
Im guessing because there are about 50x more tamers than there are castle or keep owners.
Just because they're a minority doesn't mean they don't deserve goodies. We got stackable seeds, didn't we? There's probably 50x more keep/castle owners than botanists..

Because Castles and Keeps already exist and the poll outcome could have the entire pet dye portion of the expansions scrapped. The Devs are focused on SA content right now.
First of all doesn't take much programing since the ability to dye pets has been on test for ages...
Secondly the "dyes" are NOT any different than the plant dye colors ... so again almost NO programing time needed.... So.... adding this beyond putting in the timer.... which i wish they hadn't implemented... I see no point to wasting time or money on something that I'll see one or two days.... tops. Maybe all of 4 or 5 hours...

Id rather have a small 7x7 but with the storage of a castle. I own castles just for the storage, most of mine are empty except with all the chests in them.

A lot of the small stuff are actually pet projects that Devs work on at home, off the clock, then bring in to show off. A number of them eventually end up on TC or even the production shards.
So, typically, if you see something that looks like "why did they waste time doing that little frivolous thing", it's usually something a dev made in their free time, and it took only a few minutes work time to implement for testing.
This is based on comments by Devs at various times over the 6 1/2 years I've played.
As for Pet Dyes, IIRC they started this way, ended up on TC, and required no coding to speak of (adding the TC code to production servers), to implement as a reward for that SA quest, as the quest was gonna give something anyway (a matter of saying "give random item xxxxxxa through xxxxxxb").

i dont mean fully customizable, but let us add teleporters and bars that kind of miscellaneous stuff, also make it so that we could place a marble castle and sandstone castle instead of only stone... i am not one who would rather live in a 7x7 with the same storage as a big house, if it were up to me you should be able to place a plot as big as what can fit in an area... if i can buy up like 20 houses and fit a 150x150 sized plot... then so be it

One thing I've pushed for, for years, are craftable (tinker/magery) teleporter pads that only function when locked down in a classic home, but otherwise are identical to the custom housing floor tiles.
Oh I know.... but the sad fact of this..... someone thought it "looked" good.... first off the "Dev" who created the tile set in the first place (Why we may never know)..... and secondly the person who actually designs with that horribly hideous tile set. ... each of them need a CT scan to find out what is wrong with their sense of sight...Inevitably, someone would create a giant crystal castle.
I was looking forward to the release of SA but now that they are thinking on bringing in pet dyes Im having a change of heart. I really dont want to see colored pets, It was a major eyesore on test a couple years back and will be just as ugly as all the neon toons.
I was just offering an explanation, not saying I agreed with it. But as far as customizable castles and keeps go, I say if its beyond changing the walls, and putting in teleporters I say no. It would just encourage more people to have them, and they take up too much space.

Give It A While They Will Sell The Pet Dyes As Tokens Probally Later Down The Road So It Makes No Since To Give Them As Rewards Just Like The Toko Dyes
