Snake skins boots w/ wood tags

I managed to get a pair of oak snake skin boots the other day, and I was wondering is this an often occurance?

I have heard rough estimates of around 10 to 1. I am not sure how accurate these are.

I know of three others that have gotten these wooden labeled boots as well. I don't know how rare they are (I turned in for 2 pair is all and nothing), but the name might make them a rare/unique item that will be sought out by others. I just wish there was a way of dying them if we wanted to.

there are 18 hues in all. the chance of getting oak is 1 out of 18. As for price should be signficantly more.

5m is the Avr price ive seen these go for on ATL as well

There used to be snakes/serpents with the "Ash" tag (was fixed the same time as the ice-blue-ish items with the "frostwood" tag). For some reason they didn't fix the oak snakes at the same time. (maybe it was because the potential for "Ash snake" jokes). Potentially, if that hadn't been fixed, there would have been "Ash" boots.

BTW, the "Oak" boots look REALLY nice with a suit made from copper, or dyed with one of the Copper ToT II dyes.

This is correct. This is caused by sloppy coding where a certain hue is linked to a material name. These two properties should instead be totally independant of each other. Since it is a bug, I'd imagine it will be fixed eventually.

I bet they forgot to set the oak hue to disabled on those shoes.
As far as i know, prepatch slippery snake skins can be one of 17 colors out of 18 snake hue, except oak color. The Dev team 2 years ago was certainly aware of this problem. But, ah, new Devs *sigh*

I have no idea if they fix... they did frostwood NPCs, but didnt all furnitures, on the other hand. My frostwood stool still have SC.
I hope they fix it, or they could have 40 luck or such like oak made items someday.

Are you at or above 70 before putting on the boots?

Sadly it seems the oak boots and oak hammers have all been changed and lost their oak tags.I know mine have and a few others that I know had them have.Does anyone have any that didnt change?

scratch that, boots no longer say oak, and treasure maps for ilshnar have turned to trammel, they were stored in a fellucia location, any maps i had in trammel are still ilshnar
