Gargoyle Only Items

So far that's the only thing I've seen from the beta. Is there going to be or is there any non-garg only equipment? Not all of us have an interest in playing gargoyles and would like some new artifacts/recipes/etc. Yes, yes I know - there's imbuing and duped val hammers everyone loves.

I'm pretty sure no one liked the elf only deal and you went and made a whole expansion with this? What's the reason, less work?

And why exactly are the weapons gargoyle only? Not that any of them are that impressive (slow 1handed swords that no one will use, same ol fencing 2s weps, etc). I liked the dread sword but it was ruined the moment I saw it's speed and race usage.

Race-only equipment is ******** in the first place. What's the point of limiting choices for characters? Especially on weapons.

Ohh I know, they didn't feel like making additional animations/graphics for gargoyles when they're wearing leather/plate and vice versa for humans/elves in regards to weapons. Less work for them I guess.

he isn't arguing that it's unfair, he's saying it's dumb. i think it's poorly thought out as well. i don't want to play a gargoyle either, and it sucks because they are restricting new artifacts and just a bunch of content to gargoyles only. alienating your playerbase is bad

Animations... that would be my guess. Same reason humans somehow mystically cant pick up a glass sword.

Although I really like the expansion, it's true that this "x race only" kind of stuff is, I always think, absolutely ridiculous (the best being, for example, elven robes ... why elves only ? Are humans too dumb to know where to put their members to wear the robe or what ?)

If we had non-humanoid races, why not, but in that case... it's just a bit frustrating.
(this game is renowned for the freedom it gives, I don't think too many of this kind of limitations should be introduced.)

Isn't the 3D client supposed to get around issues like that? Could just give 2D a placeholder weapon graphic.

even that they cant use archery/bows/crossbows is laughable

to be honest, i think being a gargoyle really sucks, but i will use one just for the imbuing bonus

i still think its a great expansion ...lots of new and nice things ... but imho they f...ed up gargoyles, but i can live with it ... i didnt expect to like all

What is dumb is reading all this thick headed opinionated garbage. If the land has never seen elves or humans before...what makes you think the land would provide for such creatures?

My husband and I have been voicing for a few months that this "expansion" doesn't do much to expand our 10 year old characters beyond opening up new dungeons and crafting. No weapons we can use, no new armor or clothing. We are smart enough to shoot a bow but too dumb to throw anything unless its at a dart board or comes out of our belt, and I really hope the do take away the ability to put +skill mods on earrings and necklaces humans/elves can't wear, cus that is more than unbalanced, that is a slap in the face to any human or elf folks have been playing for years.

As for shushing... the devs read players opinions, if we want changes made "shushing" won't do us any good.

Probably. They didn't even render all the armors of gargoyles for classic client. Half of them are missing.

My friend and I were discussing this tonight, and thats what I said... why cant you just have a glass sword "morph" into a viking sword or something like elves and human headgear tiara fun stuff?

I guess the only real issue is that gargs don't have enough items for human/elf things to morph into.
