One more reason I am not playing new client

I have been faithful in giving it a chance. Every time there is a patch I log in, run around try stuff to see if it is better. My problem is very laggy movement, no I don't have a slow computer.

Since the last patch though, as the client loads, I see the splash screen then it crashes...

I can't even log into play.

I guess all I am saying is I am so glad that they changed their position on the classic client.

After every patch, you need to defrag and optimize the files on your hard drive. With such large patches there will be a lot of fragments. It makes quite a difference in the stuttering.

The Enhanced Client has always felt slower than the 2D client. The client has been in the works for 4(?) years now but they have not been able to solve it. We're not talking about a missing menu or a bad text alignment that can obviously be sorted out. This appears to be a fundamental issue which the developers have not addressed. Is it always going to feel this way or are they working on a solution to make everything more responsive?

I was having the exact opposite problem last night. I tried installing the classic 2D client version that works on Retribution and it was chugging along really slowly while I was running. The enhanced client works really smoothly for me. Hopefully you'll get some changes that get it up and running smoothly for you!

I believe the degrag program says that if your overall hard disk is below a certain percentage of fragmentation. Its possible the client's files are more fragmented than the majority of things on your disk. Try running it anyway?

I had the same problem after the last patch. Uninstalling and reinstalling did the trick for me. Hopefully this won't be a recurring theme after every patch. The patching/download takes around an hour and a half.

I was having the same problem today. They've looked into it and corrected it. Just restart the client:

If performance is stuttery, accompanied by a lot of hard drive access, then it would likely be a cross between hard drive fragmentation, and a feature of the Gamebryo engine.
Oh, and possibly also low memory, causing massive pagefile use.

If the stuttering isn't accompanied by hard disk activity, then it's probably not fragmentation playing a large part in it.

I cant play the beta client either every time there is a patch, and even with the 2d client I have to wait a day or 2 to go hunting cuz of the lag. those days a spend cleaning and decoing, but seriously do not make your mind up when the new client is in beta still. Im going to wait 2 weeks after it is outta beta then see how it is, and before I make my mind up I'll at least give it a month or so the decide if its the right client for me, and hopefully you will do the same.

But in case you haven't noticed it's still in beta and NOT released
