My Stats are stuck?

I am returning from a 2 year break and have found there are some changes to the way UO works, so I guess a can be called a born-again-newbie.

I started a new character and have been raising her stats. Currently, they are stuck and am wondering if I am doing something wrong. Her current stats are:

Str 94
Dex 100
Int 21

That is a total of 215. I have Dexterity and Intelligence locked, with Strength set to increase.

I read that stat increase is now based off of the skills you use, with a primary and secondary stat affected. I have been using the animal lore skill to raise the strength (secondary stat). I created a macro to use animal lore every time I apply a bandage to my pet.

I have done it about 300 times and haven't seen a single Str increase. Am I doing something wrong, or is going to take more attempts to increase the stat 1 point?

I think you better of with a skill that raises Str as primary Stats.

Also make sure all your capped skills are turned to set to raise. Locked skills don't give stats gain.

Okay I have Int and Dex locked, with Str set to raise. I have Chivalry and Animal Lore set to raise. I have a macro that uses bandage on pet, uses skill Animal Lore, then casts Consecrete Weapon.

I have done this about 100 times, but I still haven't received a Strength increase!

What are the chances to receive a Stat gain?

You can't gain stats using skills that are locked or set to go down.

You can only gain on skills set to go up (even if the skill is at max, you need to have the arrow pointing up).

To Gain Strength - Try using Arms Lore (just target a weapon or armor to lore it) or Mining (find a couple strurdy shovels or pickaxes). Swordsmanship and Macing work well too.

To Gain Dexterity - Try using Anatomy (target a player or NPC and just use the skill) or Musicianship (just play an instrument).

To Raise Intelligence - Try using Evaluate Intelligence (target a player or NPC, similar to Anatomy) or use Item Identification (target an item, similar to Arms Lore, that is not a weapon or armor).

Make sure the skill is set to raise.

If you are tight on skill points, just raise and lower between two different skills. Gain in the one you want, then lower it back to zero, then gain in it again.

Are you doing a Chiv/Tamer? If so then you don't need all that Dex for healing your pet. Veting a pet is set to 2 sec no matter what your Dex is. You will need more Int for Chiv spells and Str fro HP to survive. My Tamer is Str125, Dex25, Int100 250 total(stat scroll). Any wep skill should raise your Str. Chiv and Lore should raise your Int.
